  1. Some nice pics there Danny, cheers. Sorry the weekend wasn't a success....
  2. Well done to all those that scored well. Commiserations to this that didn't! I now have time for lots of random selections before the fa East swing.....
  3. I thought that as well but now I have checked my EdgeTX tranny, I see lots of files with '-' and a selection worked as Special Functions.......
  4. Sorry - just reread and saw old tracks work. If that's the case, there has to be an issue with your new files..... as I say, I use audacity and have no issues with recorded files, or files downloaded and manipilatws. Sorry I can't help more. You may get an answer on RGGroups as the Edge and OpenTX devs are active there and tend to respond on the existing threads.
  5. 2 other things.... in the System area, you can set the transmitter volume - you should check that. You can also set a global function to control the volume of SF sounds - that nay be set to zero. It would be helpful if you can confirm if any System or SF sounds work. If you hear some sounds but not others, if MUST be a file issue...
  6. I am neither a royalist or republican - it is what it is. I suspect the income they generate in, for examle, tourism makes them a net contributor to the nation. Far more than any of us. And I begrudge their riches far less than vapid celebrities! I can't imagine how she managed to keep going so long, and with such grace, with all the public scrutiny of her dysfunctional (or is it normal) family.... Let's see how Charles copes.
  7. I don't have my radio with me at the moment but I have rechecked my .wav files. Some are longer than 6 characters, but the only special character in any of them is '_'. Have you tried changing, for example, fm-1.wav to fm1.wav ? And yes, I too had to change the playback speed of some files - possibly my using a random order to apply changes to the basic sojnd!
  8. I just press the red record button to start, the black stop button to stop. Then snip it to be rid of unnecessary silence. Then merge to mono. Then set to 32000Hz. Then amplify. Then export as wav. Then copy to the tranny.
  9. Yes, 32000Hz, Mono, mine are 6 chars max but not sure if that's a restriction, .wav extension System sounds line in EN/SYSTEM, SF sounds live in EN.
  10. If I recall, the Wav files meed to be 32000Hz, mono, and 6 chars max.... I create mine in Audacity. I'll check in the morning.
  11. Both brilliant fliers. The larger one housed my first ever brushless motor, and first LiPo. I still have the smaller one - in it's umpteenth incarnation. The kit does sound expensive but it'll have lots of thick balsa, much of which will end up as dust!
  12. I have the Viper and Hawk (my second Hawk).... brilliant fliers on cheap-as-chips LiPos. Hope they bring out some more. Arrows seem to be coming out with hit after hit......
  13. A small low wing private aircraft flew over a few days ago, engine idling. He got lower and lower, with just an occasional blip of throttle. Seemed to be aiming for our flying field. When he got loser, he seemed to spot it was not really designed for 1:1 models, opened the throttle and set off in the direction of an airfield about 5 miles away........
  14. Curves was my initial thought but I've not used tgem luch..... Now I know how to achieve what I want, I will look at Curves some more, as I think a curve on a throttle/ele mix on another plane may be useful as well 🙂
  15. Well, I seem to have managed it. I set a logical switch for switch B in the middle, and one for switch B down (this didn't work by checking switch B down - I had to check for switch B NOT being up and NOT being central). I used the Source for Ele/Flap mix at half flap as the first logical switch; Source for second mix being second logical switch. Boom!
  16. Hope posting in this thread is OK - I use EdgetTX but I'd imagine the solution would be the same! I have 2 position flaps on Switch B: Switch up = no flap Switch middle = half flap Switch down = full flap I have a delay of 2 secs as they are pretty powerful I need Elevator compensation of 5% on half flap, and 10% on full flap - both need the same 2 second delay as the flaps. Whatever I do with weights, offsets, sources, Add/Replace, I can't get both mixes to work - either one does, or the other, but never both. Anyone know how I can achieve what I want? TIA
  17. Available on Amazon..... MINGSTORE 22 In 1 RC USB Flight Simulator With Cables For G7 Phoenix 5.0 Aerofly XTR VRC FPV Racing : AmazonSmile: Toys & Games
  18. I have Realflight (v7 I think), and Phoenix on my W10 Surface, and used a DX6i. Bought a cheapo package off ebay for about £15 - came with a CD, several sims, a cable. Loaded easily, worked fine (I couldn't get Reflex to work but I think that's user error!). I spent a few hours upgrading on line, and downloading later versions, additional planes and locations. Although Phoenix is no longer in production, or supported, there still seems quite an active user base creating, and tweaking, planes that can be downloaded. I prefer both Phoenix and Realflight to Clearview tbh.
  19. Thanks for the additional.info. It helps us. So, the plan is to learn to fly at a club, then once a certain level of competency is reached, fly a small craft in a different location. This small craft may be self-built or ready made. Sounds sensible. Personally, I'd still recommend biying something small rather tgan build your first small plane, but it's not an impossible aim. Re those small planes you linked, I have only seen one and it was pretty fast and responsive... I don't have any small planes anymore so cab't really help. Back to transmitters.... buying second hand has an additional level of jeopardy if bought off ebay, FaceBook etc., less so if bought off a clubmate or proper shop. I'd avoid anything from a non-mainstream set - if you can't find lots of info about it online, it's probably worth avoiding. Online research will also tell you what to look for. Also, take a look at cost for receivers etc., as that can add significant cost going forwards. Feel frre to keep checking in and asking questions...
  20. In stark contrast, while I was watching it, I was convinced I'd be scoring badly! I know the track is supposed to limit overtaking (seems like 90% of tracks do!) but I like it. Also like the light entertainment provided by Ferrari and Alpha Tauri....... I have absolutely no idea what Ferrari can do to make things better - seemingly, neither do they! At least CL finally got back on the podium. MV is certainly peerless this year, a perfect match of man and machinery, much as it pains me to say.
