  1. I also dislike the new viewer. My main problem is loosing the "Print" function. I've built several planes from the free plans and like to print the articles that go with them. The article is the only building instructions for the plans other than the forum thread, and some of those are getting pretty thin these days. The 3D view can be very helpful at times. With the old printer you could print the page or save it as a pdf, which is very handy as then you can enlarge it and print it at a bigger scale.
  2. My FMS 3S fans tested at: 559 grams thrust 33.8 amps 351.5 watts 10.4 volts I found that a 2200 battery had a very very large frontal area and blocked too much of the airflow, even a 1800 is big. I think his newer designs with the large side inlets and the battery out of the airflow will be a much better design. Edited By Steven Shaw on 24/07/2019 11:50:59
  3. Beautiful plane Martin, I hope mine turns out as nice. Was it very tough to do the covering around the leading edge with the slat mounts glued on?
  4. Posted by Glyn44 on 11/07/2019 13:22:09: The mjetion of a locking device for use with carbon control rods prompts me to ask how to these ( the silver items) work? I’ve tried to fit them in various guises, but nothing I’ve tried is correct, or doesn’t appear to be! Cheers to all. Glyn - Sullivan also sell a very handy little TOOL that makes installing and removing the clips very easy.
  5. In a LORD engine mount system there would also be a metal tube inside the mount so that you can torque the bolt  properly. Edited By Steven Shaw on 06/07/2019 13:29:49
  6. Yes - you want to completely isolate the firewall from the engine mounting screw.
  7. Hi Dwain - I've received my pilot, now I just have to lengthen his torso and repaint him to look more like a bush pilot.
  8. Hi Dwain, where exactly were you able to buy your pilots? I've been searching some of the Chinese shops and can't seem to spot them. Nice paint job by the way.
  9. I like those pilots, I could use one for the Li'L Cub I'm building now. Beautiful looking plane Dwain. I think I'm going to use some of your technics on my build.
  10. I have started on one also. Just have the fuselage sides made and am fitting the doweling to them now. I have gone with hardwood dowels as I couldn't find any balsa ones here. I will be using electric power for mine.
  11. When I bought the optional float kit for my electric powered Sport Cub it came with a new prop. Edited By Steven Shaw on 09/06/2019 13:38:11

  13. It looks like you're planing on inserting the battery from the rear of the cabin. I'm just getting ready to cut my formers out, but I think I will start on the wing instead until I see what you end up with. Also are you going to add the motor 3D files to your link? It looks like something that I would like to put onto the front of my Li'L Cub.

  15. Thanks for the link to the Piper Cub, I'm starting on Peters' Li'L Cub and this made for interesting viewing.
  16. Dwain, any friend with a vinyl cutter could cut those for your tail fin. Edited By Steven Shaw on 31/05/2019 21:41:47
  17. Ah yes - it's a thing of beauty Duain, I'm very impressed with the whole build
  18. Your plane is looking good Dwain, but if it's not too late your control yokes should both be pointing in the same direction I think.
  19. Tim - are you building your version to the plans at just under 1:6 scale? And are you going to make all your 3D parts available to us? I am getting ready to build one also and am following your progress. I have been following the pictures on your album, very nice work so far. Edited By Steven Shaw on 14/05/2019 16:41:09
  20. Great looking build D.D. - I've always liked the 120/140 Cessnas.  Glad the screen worked out so well for you. Edited By Steven Shaw on 12/05/2019 22:22:03
