  4. As a test, you can try pressing and holding the panic button whilst wiggling the elevator. If the elevator moves normally with panic button depressed, then the panic channel is indeed reversed.
  5. Try reversing the panic button - Sounds like you are stuck in panic mode. Note that the receiver is programmed to add a small amount of up elevator as throttle increases beyond 50%, which is why you are seeing the up elevator movement as you advance the throttle. 6. Posted by Jim Purcha on 19/05/2020 20:36:08: Just checked it. I have pages 1-58 as Model Engineer, and 59- last as RCME? Edited By Jim Purcha on 19/05/2020 20:48:37 Me too. I hadn't previously checked beyond the first few pages of model engineer, but from page 61 onwards it is indeed RCME......

    Stand or sit

As my current build is too big for my workbench, it is on the dining room table. I am making good use of the chairs!
  8. Nope. I was already part way through a build before the virus kicked in, but now, as a key worker, I am in work even longer hours so have no time to continue with the build. Easter holidays & bank holidays are cancelled too, so no building to be done then either. Just as well I suppose, because I am still waiting for covering film to come back into stock at HobbyKing. Oracover is just too expensive. (Plus I have more than enough models anyway)
  9. It needs to be something we can build using empty toilet roll cardboard tubes, empty baked bean tins, empty pasta packets and empty paracetamol boxes. Seems there must be a lot of these building materials out there.....

We ran out the other day because we were unable to buy any as our local supermarkets had sold out. I had to go into mcdonalds for a mcdump.....
  11. Posted by Gary Manuel on 16/03/2020 21:06:44: John, I'm not fretting about what happens to me. If / when I get the virus, I'll either get over it or I won't. I have a couple of medical issues that reduce my chances, but que sera sera! My Mother has less chance than me and it's her I fret about. I also fret about my son who will get over the virus but would struggle on his own (I'll not go into why). I also fret for my nephew and his family, who are on zero hours contracts and will have no income at a time when they need it most. I probably fret for the very same people that you are talking about. My point was that there are still apparently some people out there who haven't grasped the seriousness of the situation. They still describe this as flu and blame the politicians for their handling of the situation. The bottom line is that nobody is to blame (maybe a Chinese market trader?) and nobody knows how to handle it. You keep referring back to my earlier comment about raising the drawbridge. You fail to notice that I said in the same post that it was too late to raise the drawbridge once the attacker is inside the castle. What I meant, in case you didn't understand the metaphor, was that we had the opportunity to keep the virus away from our island before it reached us. Once it was here, it was too late. I'm with you Gary. Some others need to start taking it more seriously. I don't worry about myself, but I do worry about those around me who are at risk/vulnerable. IGNOREance is not an option.

  13. Posted by Nigel R on 13/03/2020 09:14:47: These days I find 200% is a better target to aim at, 110% is a bit last century. As I work an agile process, we are always sprinting. I note few people ever seem to point out the impossibility of "always sprinting". Apparently, the more realistic "cruising at a sustainable pace" is not a sufficiently motivating expression. Careful, you're in danger of thinking outside the box with that bleeding edge corporate synergy......

Have none of you read Chaucer? Or medieval English? Shakespeare? In form, composition, vocabulary and meaning there are many differences between what was penned and what is now accepted as the norm.   Also, gentlemen, given the focus of discussion in this thread, I suggest some proof-reading before you submit your own poor examples. Sooo, lets go ahead and look at this. Ain't not nothin wrong with language evolving, but it's so like not evolving like. It seems to be devolving, like less expressive, with one word or phrase seemingly fitting all. It's like a whole bunch of words have gone missin like. You get me? 15. Posted by Nigel R on 12/03/2020 21:19:28: You should try being part of an american owned large company. Managers aren't managers, they are people leaders... We all have to socialise our ideas (!) amongst other oxymorons. I could go on. So long as you give it 110% you'll be good.
  16. "I didn't do nothing" is the one that gets me most. I usually answer it with "so you did something then", only to be confronted with blank stares. That and the following phrases from over the pond: "A whole bunch" - Seemingly a description for anything greater than 1. Other adjectives are available people! "Lets go ahead and" - A completely unnecessary phrase. Lets go ahead and look at the next annoying phrase... "Your all set". So, that's it like. Fantastic.

We are talking about something the size of a GPS telemetry unit. Edited By Steve J on 13/02/2020 18:43:06 Even something that small will not fit in my hotliner.....
  19. I sent Horizon many emails, which they failed to respond to. I sent recorded delivery letters which they failed to respond to. When somebody finally responded after naming and shaming online, they said that they 'cannot deal with old issues'. When I pointed out that the issues were only old because they ignored my emails and letters when the issues were new they stopped replying. As far as I'm concerned Horizon are rotten to the core. Their products are overpriced and not particularly reliable. I used to be an advocate of their products. My advice now is not to touch them with a barge pole.
  20. Posted by Nigel Heather on 04/02/2020 20:30:05: Looking at chargers on a certain website. The max I would need to charge is a 6S 5000mAh at 1C which I calculate is 111W. I’d also like to charge two batteries at once. Also would like it to be mains powered. So I need 120W at least. The first I saw was the Turnigy Reaktor 240W (2 x 120W) which is around £100. But what then puzzled me is that I then saw the Turnigy Accucell 6 C150 which us a single 150W charger. But it is £35. So I could buy two Turnigy Accucell 6. C150s for a lot cheaper than a single Turnigy Reaktor 240W - plus they have a higher power output. I can’t really see any difference, but I wondering whether there must be something better about the Reaktor. Anyone know anything about these chargers? Cheers, Nigel May be a moot point as both are out of stock with no ETA. Hobbyking do not seem to have had any new stock in whatsoever for months. They have laid off staff and downsized due to cashflow issues, but they don't seem to be re-stocking any items. I really hope I'm wrong, but I fear they may disappear once all their existing stock has sold.

Failure to operate in a legal fashion could affect the abilityffor us to fly there at all. We don't want that. Edited By Andy Meade on 04/02/2020 Playing devil's advocate here. On private land, you don't need an MOT, road tax or insurance to be able to drive so if the Orme is private land, then you could argue that you should not need any model airplane tax or license either..... Yep as long as you don't go into the air which is regulated by the CAA, so as long as the plane stays on the ground you are fine................. But the landowner owns the airspace above their land up to a height that is 'reasonable for the normal use and enjoyment of the land'. In the case of the Orme, model flying has taken place there for many, many years, so it has become the normal use of the land.

  25. Posted by Stephen Smith 14 on 28/01/2020 18:14:09: HH are a disgusting company, learned this with one of the very first DX8. There still today selling radios with poor quality rf boards and pots, they really don't care. Will never buy anything from them again, won't even buy secondhand My DX9 has gone through 2 RF boards. I also have a duff dx6 and dx5e with failed boards. Stopped buying any of their stuff a few years ago when they stopped replying to customer service emails. Letters to their CEO in the USA resulted in no response too. Would not touch them with a barge pole lately.
