It should until recently have been available from Traplet as they took over pre 2016 plans. Obviously not now but hopefully eventually from Sarik. As this plan has an RC prefix it means it was in RCME rather than Radio Modeller ( they were RM prefix ) The handbook does not say which issue but it says the model won the 1972 Nationals so assume it was in that year or a year or so later. Copies of RCME from those years are available for reasonable prices from Magazine Exchange if only you knew which one! If you are using the majority of 2600MAh in 30 mins it suggests that either you are pulling the best part of 5amps so something is wrong with the setup or there is a battery/charger/checker fault. No, we did not have mini digital servos in the Acrowot at the time but our Futaba 128 servos did the same work.
  3. There is steep drop off at about 4.6v so don't approach that. I find the best way is to measure what you put back in after a day's flying with a decent charger. We used to fly all day on 500mah NiCds so with 5 times that capacity you should be OK.

The Manuals for all E-Flite Models are available on the E-Flite Website, under the 'Support' tab for each model You can check DSM2 compatibility there, but all should be OK as DSM2 is still supported in the USA. I've the Night Visionair & Carbon T-28 and in both manuals there is the Spectrum DX9 setup which can be used with the JR DSX9.
  5. Anyone tried bead blasting? I got the kit for a few pounds from Aldi/Lidl a while back (impulse buy, can't resist when you see things like that in the weekly offer section!) but have not had occasion to use it as yet. It looks like a rather large air brush & can take various abrasives.
  6. The Carbon-Z Cub has mylar hinges pre-fitted to the rudder which need gluing into the slots in the fin. Geo have another look at the Rudder Installation section (page 9) of the instructions. There is a box at the top of the page which states 'Required Adhesives: Thin CA'. I'd confirm, as Bob says, that standard CA is suitable, indeed I find it better than foam-safe on the EPP foam used by E-flite. I used thin Zap in the pink bottle which 'wicks' in nicely. Afraid I totally disagree with Chuck Plains. Great flying model, I'm sure you will enjoy it.
  7. I've used Solarlac both sprayed & brush coated without problems. My oldest model so painted dates back to the 80's & whilst undoubtedly now scruffy it has largely resisted the effects of 5% nitro over the years. Edited By John Lee on 25/07/2017 15:52:12
  8. I think you are trying to fly too fast. A Wot4 foam-e will land in virtually it's own length, you should be able to take off and land comfortably in 10 meters let alone 70. The model will fly very slowly (in extremis at zero airspeed in the hover) at a high angle of attack & about a third to half throttle. With virtually no tip stall it is safe to manoeuvre at much lower airspeeds than 90% of other models, even those with effective flaps. I'd suggest starting on a calm day at altitude & practice with increasing up elevator to gradually slow down whilst keeping at a level altitude by adjusting the throttle. When you are comfortable flying around holding the low airspeed make some approaches using the throttle to control your rate of decent & the elevator to control the the airspeed - more 'up' to go slower, less throttle to go steeper. You should never 'have to put in a fistful of down' to steepen the approach, rather just close the throttle bit. Be aware however that closing the throttle will reduce the elevator & rudder effectiveness as they lose the draft from the prop slipstream, hence the practice at altitude. Just like the full size! Flaperons may help a bit but the Wot 4 stall is so benign anyway I suspect the effect will be marginal. Edited By John Lee on 24/07/2017 19:43:06
  9. One landed elsewhere on the farm we fly on & was passed to us by a farmworker. After establishing it was not owned by any of our members I took it to the local police station who took it without a qualm.
  10. If you visit a model club & can arrange to fly (I'm in the North West so can't help with any arrangement) then you can be covered by the BMFA Insurance with no expense. Here's the extract from the BMFA Handbook Page 11: (h) Club indemnity is extended to enable clubs to welcome Model Flyers from Overseas Countries to fly at their club sites during short visits to the UK. In the interest of promoting good international relations the BMFA will absorb the cost of providing this indemnity for a period not exceeding 30 consecutive days for any one overseas visitor in any single membership year. Club Secretaries are required to notify the BMFA, in advance, if this provision is required.
  11. I've got three AR636 equipped models, all came BNF (Visionaire, big & small T28) and a stabilised Lemon Rx in a Multiplex Rockstar. All work well & help. However on really rough days I think a high wing loading and responsiveness is required & my unstabilised AcroWot or WotsWot is my weapon of choice. Regarding judging airspeed then Power + attitude + trim = performance. At a given power setting, attitude & trim you airspeed will always be the same regardless of windspeed. It's then just a question of practice, experience and ignoring groundspeed. There is no substitute for hours in the air.

You rank behind secured & preferential creditors but ahead of shareholders in any payout if the eventual result is liquidation. If the assets of the company are taken over with the intention of resuming trading the purchaser may decide to fulfil pipeline orders as a matter of goodwill but is not generally obliged to do so.
  13. Sounds like the aileron servos (&/or their extension leads) are picking up EMI spikes from the speakers &/or their leads. You could try shielding one or both sets of leads with metal braiding &/or using ferrite rings. But that's treating the symptoms, not the cause. Edited By John Lee on 19/07/2017 21:45:59

In reality if the manufacturer are not interested, what can you realistically do? You can claim you money back from the retailer under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 if they fail to cooperate go to Trading Standards
