  1. I like my Futaba 2.4,only problem is no aerial to tie the black flag (using black stocking tied the Tx hand bar). The added cost of the Spektrum is okay if you have twenty models and a need for digital servos. For the sports flyer the Futaba is a very good choice. Kelvin
  2. Hi What is the best way to clean the oily mess on ic aircraft. I used washing up liquid solution in the distant past.Thinking of trying screen wash as used in cars? Cheers Kelvin
  3. Hi Al It is a bit bright, more stickers added since photo. Got a Lipo/charger for the Spit, still trying to work out how to charge it?? Kelvin
  4. Hi Scott Sorry changed my gallery header to 'Spitfire and other pics'if you want a look Cheers
  5. Just finished a Boomerang 40 to do my A test. See photos in the gallery section under 'Ripmax Spitfire' Nice model to put together,go slow and take your time. This is a good thread by a guy in Australia putting together a Boomerang, his first ic aircraft. http://www.rchangout.com/forums/showthread.php?t=13056 Have fun
  6. Beware the Taxman, just got burnt on a order for two 2.4 Rx's from the USA and I have to travel 6 miles to collect them from Parcel Force.Bumps the price up to the same as in the UK.
  7. I put together models between the hours of 10pm and 2am on the coffee table(see Ripmax Spit gallery Boomerang pictures). I flight simm as well,IL2,FS2004 and OFF (PC out of shot below Spity pics).
  8. I agree with you Lee. The Spitfire is an aircraft almost impossible to model it is like the old steam trains or the(old) mini cooper, you can 1/4 scale ,1/2 scale but what about the sound?? no other aircraft of it's day sounds like the Spitfire. Last year I saw for the first time Three Spitfires flying together at an Air display,it was almost a spiritual experience. You can almost see the Spitfires Locked in combat with the 109's and 110's while the Hurricanes hammer the He111's and Do17's. The Spitfire is now part of our Nations history,a Nation that is being torn apart by the nanny state and the PC B*ll*£ks. A test??? bring back the 70's "Life on Mars" Brill.
  9. Hi Greg Only joined my local club 3 weeks ago not flown with them yet due to the rain.I asked about the 2.4 and was told it is OK you have to have a black flag/rag/wifes black stocking attached to the Tx for the BMFA insurance but as far as I know it is now allowed. I have been flying from a farmers field up until now. Kelvin

  14. Just put together a Boomerang 40 looks good and robust not flown yet waiting for a Rx from the states,I have the futaba 2.4 and spare Rx's are like rocking horse pooh in the UK also more expensive. Flying a Ripmax EP Spitfire after a break(30+years) from RC flying, got the Boomer to pass the A(aaaargh)test. Learnt to fly in the 1970's with a Ripmax Dazzler 48 anyone remember them? Any trainer you have in mind will do the job. See the Pictures of my Boomer and Spity in the gallery section. Have fun with whatever you build and fly. Kelvin

Hi David & Andy, Thankyou for your comments just finishing my Boomer waiting for the rain to stop. I have been adding a few odds and ends to my Ripmax Spit to give it a more realistic look(toy pilot as well) added some pics in the gallery. Planning on building a FW190 from some old plans I found out(Boomer engine will fit or shall I electify???). Thankyou again for your support. Regards kelvin.
