Hi have you thought about a pat teakle glider they are about ?370 and they fly great but you do have to build them yourself has they are only a basic kit. Hi I would keep well away from them. They have very weak wings the wings joiner tubes in the wings are only fixed to the ribs and not the spars and the fuselages can sometimes be weak. It is a shame if they spent a few more ? they could have built a nice glider. -

A WORD OF WARNING. The smell test is not a good idea as some chemicals have no smell I use a lot of epoxy resin and this as little smell but still has dangerous fumes. -
As l fly large scale gliders Wing bags can be expensive. So I make mine from picnic blankets that you can get from lidi. They are 2x2 meters and silver one one side and cloth on the other. I also use sleeping bags for fuselages and decathlon do light weight one. I do not use silver radiator foil now has there is a problem with it in that it will mark glass models with gray marks.Edited By Roo Hawkins on 03/12/2018 08:40:44

The best bit of building a balsa model. The fiber glass .carbon and epoxy oops and the bit of balsa that may be used for a fin post .

You lot think you have problems try living with 9 large scale gliders from 4 meter to 7 meter in span plus 3 more in build and all the small stuff hidden away.

I will usemail a old chisel and pick the foam out front and melt the rest out with petrol. Not sure how I am doing the wings yet I have a number of ways to do them. Maybe full carbon or a carbon and veneer mix. I do not vac bag but will press them.

No David it was about 6.6kg. The 5 meter one was OK but there was a bit to much wing flex for my liking. I like the glider but wished I made it bigger so I started this one.

Build as been restarted. Fuz is now glassed. carbon ud tape on the tail boom and 5 layers of 200gm glass on the rest . Thanks guys. I will speak to him tomorrow and find out more. He used to be a pilot for laser engines a long time ago not sure when.so not sure of the age of the engine. I have seen that you can not get parts for pre 92 engines?Edited By Roo Hawkins on 27/09/2018 12:07:56

Hi a mate of mine has offered me a flair tiger moth fitted with a laser 150.I have not seen it yet because he lives more than 100 miles away but hopefully will see him in a couple of weeks. It has not flown for a long time and he asked offered it to me for £300.is that a good price or not. That is if it is in good condition.

I have just got from a mate . a jaskolka .and is 4 meters in span. my mates dad john watkins did the plans for it in the 1980s.and you can get the plan and canopy from sarik hobbies . this one is the first one to be built by him. it also came with the plans that he drew up before they w published .ther is also a log book that he did with all the flights he did with it from 1989 to 2015 . I have not added the hours up but it is a lot. -

As I fly large scale gliders my largest being 6m span and 14kg.I wanted a car that could fit them in but still small in size. Having walked by my local car dealer I spotted a Nissan Note for less than ?3000 and less than 5000 miles ex mobility car so has been serv .hado it for 2 years and it has been a top buy.small but I can get a 6m glider in each wing panel is 3 meters long plus I can get 4 outher 4m gliders in has well and camping gear as well when I go to events. It has underfloor compartment in the boot and under the seats so you can load it up and have space for planes.Edited By Roo Hawkins on 01/08/2018 10:13:37

hi I use now wilco enamal spray can . really good paint and is only £4.a can been useing it on all my scale gliders. used it on my 1/3 fox that was in rcme last mo
