  1. Richard, I will take a look later. I do wish I had more time. I seem to get more time when the wife is away. Magically there seem to be less "important" jobs to do. Not sure why 🙂 Jon
  2. WaSo still following Ron's fantastic video series
  3. Ron, one of the tricks I use on my airfix models is to stick the masking tape to my trousers a couple of times this takes off some of the grab but still let's it stick. Or use bluetack worms...
  4. Ron, Quick question as I am following your build so religiously what size Prop are you using? Thanks Jon
  5. See balsa super glued in to pull the platic into shape...
  6. OK so I am pushing on but the small people keep stealing my evening with their bedtime antics. i.e. staying up late and not going to bed. But I have progressed as you can see from the Photos. With the battery hatch fitted the catch and noticed the same issue as Ron. Though I had not watched the next video to know he too had the same issue. We both came up with solutions, his elegant and simple mine well not so much. but anyway, here are the photos... again Ron, brilliant videos, and I should be at the work bench now but only just got the kids to bed at 9pm. So maybe tomorrow.....
  7. Ron, Fantastic videos - really loving the videos. Thanks for the hint on the ESC amps. I have one on its way this week. Where did you get your 3d printed wing shapers from. I was looking at thingyverse but could not find one. Could you share either a STL or just a couple of photos / dimensions so I can re-create them in Fusion. Thanks Jon
  8. Ron, What size esc are you planning on using? Thanks Jon
  9. Ron, The videos are fantastic. They enable me to speed up the build because the thinking has already been done for me. I spend a lot of time working out how to do each step as this is only my 2.5 build. My spit is about 50% - 60%. But by watching your videos it enable me to understand one of the ways of going about each step without having to spend half my time working it out myself... Thanks again Ron. Jon
  10. All. I thought I would add my 2 pennies to the mix on the FW190. I am following Rons videos to help me speed up my slow building. but thought i would share the pics of progress.. So far no blood and only a few swear words.
  11. Ron Amazing series. Following your build to build mine will start a post soon. Kind regards Jon
  12. Ron, I was going to suggest the same thing. I am following: https://www.youtube.com/@ProductDesignOnline He has a number of good videos and a good learn 360 in 30 lessons which I am about 7 days into.
  13. I will be building one of them, hopefully on the mass build.
  14. Richard, Put me down for 1 of each. I don't want to miss out. Jon
  15. Richard, For us relatively newbies can you provide a bit more detail on covering. What you have provided so far is gold. My particular confusion is covering the fuselage. I.e. how how many sections and what sections? Some photos of each piece as you apply would be great so we can see the steps. To claify do you cover the whole bottom first and if so how high up the fuselage do you go? Is the tail plane done separately? How much of an overlap do you have between sections? Any many other questions on the dark art of brown paper.... On the p51, I muddled through but was not that happy with my effort. Thanks Jon
  16. Some pics of progress so far. Using my Tamyia 1/48 spit as ref. Thinking about this colour scheme as its my fav.
  17. Peter, Thanks on the p51 I had a list. I intend to make a new one now I have exhausted the build blogs. I tend to make my own manual by putting together people's build blogs and printing them out. I find it really useful.
  18. That is the kind of mistake I would make. I am trying to do one small job per night to keep the momentum as not much time. That is the kind of error that creeps in when you build like this and forget what your doing day to day...
  19. Paul, Dan, Thanks for your help. That is what I suspected but could not find enough pics to confirm my theory on the best course of action. I will post some pics where i am upto. It's a lovely plane to build.
  20. Dan, Eric, thanks for your help. Dan's first photo is the best but I didn't explain myself fully. So edited the photo to show where i am confused. The fin post in green needs to go through the balsa blocks the snakes go through, do I cut a slot or trim the blocks off before the post Indicated by pink arrow. When the post is in place how do I fill and blend the area in the green square where the yellow arrow is. The post is 1/4 inch and this part of fuselage is much wider? Thanks again
  21. Spitfire rear. I am stumped as what to do. I have mocked up the tail. The long part of the vertical sab has to either go through or instead of the balsa blocks. Not sure which. Also how do I blend the long bit of the stabiliser into the bottom part of the fuselage. Most people have skipped this bit on their build blogs and the plan has not shed any light for me... thanks again for all your help. Jon
