  1. Another flame out, this time with my Jubilee on take off, a good job I fitted brakes, a re start and off it went, it's very slow on start up especially the first in the day when cold, I will do a video and post it if anyone out their can tell me what I need to reprogram for quicker starts.
  2. Don't you have a separate jet flyers test ?, over here it is easy just common sense, a check on the plane, radio and general look around, pre flight check, cap and sun glasses ( over kill in the UK ) start up and flight, 4 judges,,,
  3. Yes rubbish sold in a polystyrene egg box, keep the box and throw the metal lump away,,,
  4. Drilled out to 12mm 8.300rpm at 97 Db, I will leave it at that,,,
  5. Oh dear am I the only one with an Irvine .61,,, I got this water cooled one with a glued up exhaust, sorry but no way can I get one of the screws out, but if you can recognise the head of the right hand screw if that can help ?.

  9. I built and crashed loads of them, I have a working Paw 1.49 diesel one in my garage last flown around 5 years ago,,
  10. No not my favourite plane David, but the Skyraider was my first control line plane, I am not shore but I think it had a Testors engine in it on 25 foot lines, I don't remember even doing 2 laps with it before it went into the bin,,? Brass chicane now drilled out to 12mm to see what that does,,,
  11. The one with my piece of bronze reducing it to 10mm gave, at the tail 106Db at 3 metres 98Db and 8.000rpm and sounded nice in the air, but that 500 less rpm makes it 'lazy', the other one in the photo ( left ) Tail 110Db at 8.500 rpm, at 3metres 100DB
  12. I measured it at 90cm behind the engine, The French federation measure it at 3 metres at 30cm from the ground, 92Db on grass and 94Db on a hard surface, I will see what the difference is this afternoon with my exhaust modification.
  13. My Rcgf is still in 'destruct mode', a split behind the port wing on the fuselage,, I get 8.300 rpm at 110 Db, I have knocked up a 10 mm ( from 19mm) reducer after reinforcing the Fuselage I will see what the rpm and noise is like.
  14. I had a Chipmunk in 1973 bought from 'Chippy's' at Sunderland with an HP .40 in it, could it have been one of theirs ?.
  15. I did a boat that size in the 70's, with a small 4 stroke lawn mower engine,,,

  20. I used to use Rossi plugs but they don't seem to last today, whether it's the fuel or quality,, I only use Enya 3 / 4 and OS f 4 stroke plugs today, the OS F have rocketed in price with Enya not far behind.
