  1. Looking great! personally I wouldn't double cover but would just us tissue and real dope, I love eze dope but in this case real dope would add strength, decoration is best done using enamels thinned with cellulose... Take a look at "ffscale.co.uk" the guy than owns the site is a master when it comes to indoor scale flying.
  2. Posted by cymaz on 25/05/2020 08:10:55: Nylon and dope might be the way to go Here Or polyester silk and dope with tissue on top, very light, very strong and looks wonderful (imo).
  3. Robin, please post a picture, that's a brilliant idea!!
  4. looking good Cliff! love the Gerald Coulson print on your wall, titled "Outbound Lancaster" I believe? Think I would have used pva rather than cyno tbh.
  5. Nice models gents, Ray, I built a invader last year, flys a treat using a lightweight bungee, fit a d/t..it really will fly away given the chance, here's mine:

  8. To my mind vintage types look better once they have a bit of fuel/exhaust staining. It really needs it's name, designer and year on the wing, always a good conversation starter at the field.
  9. looks wonderfull David! maybe a little decoration on the wing needed?
  10. Does it Ace? interesting, my Gamine is the last model designed by Vic Smeed, flys a treat on rudder only.
  11. looking fantastic David! I like the idea of the door. Those AR410 rx's are marvellous, got one in my Gamine and intend to fit another in my latest project ( keil Kraft Bantam).
  12. Not sure it works like that Simon...on the Ar6210 and AR410 the battery plugs into the socket on the far left when there facing you.
  13. I use Halfords, it's click and collect only at the moment but saves waiting on the postman and you can normally collect your goods within a hour.
  14. Doc, I do try where ever possible to avoid buying Chinese goods and if I do have to then I'll order through a British model shop and firmly believe in supporting British manufacturers in all aspects of my life. You mention 2 strokes, there's always PAW ( diesels only but lovely engines) or indeed West.
  15. Proper good old fashioned aeromodelling fun Cliff! Bl#@dy well done, made my day that!
  16. I'm not outraged at all Jon and just to set the record straight I spent 35 years working on high performance cars and engines including 20 years in F1 so will I'll refrain from calling my self a expert I do know a thing or two. That cam cover is a half hour job including programming. glad it runs!
  17. What a bodge job Jon! working where you do surely you have access to bearing pullers or a lathe to make one? you didn't even acknowledge Martin's suggestion. So you've "rebuilt" it complete with a hole in the crankcase, a leaking exhaust valve and no shim on the head.....hmm!
  18. Wonderful! thanks for finding that BE.
  19. Superb! thanks for that, filmed at "fantasy of flight"?
  20. Brilliant Cliff! lovely model and your garden looks lovely!
  21. A very interesting project Simon, looks like it should make a fine summer evening floater. Can I suggest you change the mono filament line for braid, mono has a lot of stretch whereas braid has zero and is far thinner given the same breaking strain. In case anyone's interested you can get pre-stretched mono but it's very brittle and unpredictable, I once lost a double figure Barbel due it .....
  22. I think PAW 80's are single ballrace? My 149 hates D1000 as well, but runs well on 2000, it is a bugger to start though, possibly a bit worn. I think 3000 would be ok in a 80 but it would have to be run in on something milder first.
