  1. Ron, when are you going to make the video re brown paper as I would be very interested. bas
  2. Thanks flying squirrel , you could not have picked a big one, 40 pages. I dont suppose you have any idea say 1/4 way ,1/2 any guesses, as its a lot to go through.( This is not a moan, just a plea for guidance) Thanks I am finding the brown paper thing interesting. Bas
  3. Am I correct in assuming that it is for solid surfaces like a fuse' , and not used on a ribbed surface ie wings. What do you finish it with ie paint/dope. What is the advantage of using it?. Sorry to load you up with a load of questions but I have seen mention of it before and often wondered about its use. Thanks in advance Bas
  4. Forgive me but, how do you finish the prevailing surface, and with what please ?. I am a stranger to the use of brown paper. I assume this is an alternative to film!!. Thanks in advance. Bas
  5. Still got that irritating blue circle thing in the left hand bottom corner. I dont remember seeing this before. Bas
  6. But why do we need cookies anyway. Our site is not commercial, and the only choices we make are about what we view or contribute too. I dont understand!!!! I dont remember it prior to this mishap. Bas
  7. Hi, can someone tell me WHY do we need this cookie thing in the first place ?. What does it do for us, that would not occur if it was absent?. Bas
  8. I am a little over annoyed so am apt to make a silly statement. The reason is I am not really computer tecnnic. When this first occurred I asumued it was some thing that had been precipitated by myself and spent a great deal of my time trying to overcome the situation, only to find it was not self caused. Thats my sense of annoyance. Bas
  9. yes we do want blood. Surely they can just delete the last update, ( In laymans terms of course) . Its always the users that get the hassle.
  10. Me to. Just added another section re this. Please get rid of it ASAP Bas
  11. Can you show the hinges inserted (Into the blanks as drilled)so that a newbie , like me can further understand the concept please.
  12. Thanks Ron, just tried this prior to you answering. Many thanks I think I can do this now. Bas
  13. I know it's been on here so many times. Now that I have updated my systems on windows 11, I need to know how to add / carry over pictures from my storage onto a post. Yes it's been covered before but I have not been in a position ( Mainly due to lack of tech ability ) to attempt it . Thank you in advance, also apologize in advance for once again bringing up this cherry. Bas
  14. Thank you for highlighting this point, I was not aware of the diffrence. Bas
  15. Thank you for your replies. I asked because , not having any experience of some older equipment, I dont have the back ground. I was unsure what the interest was other than a money saving. I bought secondhand Spektrum TX for my start in the Hobby. Thanks again. Bas
  16. This subject is interesting for a mature newbie to our hobby.I am assuming that by using a 'Flysky' module the TX becomes 'Flysky' protocal. If this is the case; ..... I have seen Flysky 10ch Tx for about £40 around, . The base TX Sanwa Futarba.... price plus module costs work out in excess of the £40. So why not just buy a new/SH Flysky. I will head for cover as I have obviously missed something here and am preparing myself to get shot down in flames .....again. I am assuming we are talking 35mhz original TX , not cheap on ebay.( Surely not all types /brands of 35mhz are convertable). Bas
  17. I dont know any detail, it caught my interest. I thought I bet I can find some guys that know all about that and will fill me in on some detail. You often come across old TX stuff. Bas
  18. I have seen in the past conversion units for sale to bring old TX's up to modern standards. can anybody throw some light on this please. Bas
  19. Well !!!!!!!!!!! the primer has now dried hard. adhesion is good, it can be scrapped off with a finger nail not to easily . I would suggest that it will be OK for the use that I want ( Cowl rear) as it is not subject to hard abrasion etc. Subject closed I think. Bas
  20. No Bruce, a bog standard primer as stated. I will examine it more closely now it has had time to harden. Bas
  21. Hi Martin, I am trying a primer from Halfords. Aerosol, acrylic based over an abraded surface. After a couple hours it seems to have good adhesion, needs to harden properly, at least a couple of days before a final decision on adhesion is made. Your suggestion is a really good one did not think of that, and I come from an automotive background to. Thanks good suggestion. Take at least 10 brownie points. Forget what they are made of, have to look it up. Bas Mainly Polycarbonate, impact resistance.
