  1. You can squeeze in one more, it takes to yellow cards before you get a red.
  2. Graham is giving misleading information, you have to buy a pack of B&Q depron which will set you back more than a tenner. Good thing is you now have incentive to build more models to use it up. Be very careful it can become addictive as you scouer the Internet looking for rare subjects to model.. don't forget to get a good stock of Stanley blades and Uhu por. 65"span 109f made from foamboard and depron, most expensive parts were the spinner and retracts. Some balsa and ply used for spars and motor mount etc 3mm depron sheeted .
  3. Hi Chris, small is good with depron, not as durable as balsa but generally easier to repair and much cheaper. I use balsa or ply for wing spars and reinforcement but very little. A 60" span airframe will cost about £20 _£30
  4. I sent Richard that picture a few days ago as a suggestion for a take off dolly but I don't think you'll be seeing one.
  5. It will have to wait till the 109f is repaired the battery fell out and it turned into a lawn dart.
  6. There should be no problem using foamboard and depron, I have built many various aeroplanes with it my biggest is a 104"span Lancaster,on average the others are about 60" span.
  7. A 109E for me, I still have a Richard's Spitfire to start which may take 12 days as its not a quick build 🤔
  8. Hi Bucksboy, I hope this helps, the catch is screwed to the underside of the plate with the screws provided. The plastic cover is trimmed to fit, you will find the most is trimmed from the front. I laid the vac formed cover for the guns in position after trimming it to fit, line the two pieces up with the notches in F2. I used Uhu glue to stick the vac forming to the hatch.
  9. Yes Ron but someone building for the first time will want to use what's supplied and as the central hole is already in the former, may as well use it. Gone are the days when we could pop into the local model shop for bits and pieces. Side one completed now to do it all again.
  10. Another point worth noting is the dowel for the front of the wing. I drilled the hole after the wings were glued together with epoxy, this made it difficult to keep the drill in line. It may be better to either file a half groove in the wings before joining ad keep the epoxy away from the area then epoxy the dowel in after joining the wings . Meanwhile some more detail work.
  11. Gordon, I am using a 4s 3600 battery which fits diagonally from behind F1 to F2, it is a tight fit once the hatch is fitted and can't move. A smaller battery may need some restraint to stop the c of g movement. I have started adding some detail. A gun cover done with oil pastels
  12. I've made a launch dolly but looking at the forecast it will be a while before I can test it.
  13. Pretty straightforward Chris, don't sand the elevators too thin as the joiner goes back quite away and I broke through when drilling mine, not enough to be a problem. Don't forget the doubler for F2, it can be retro fitted but it is easier put on before the cowl wrapper. Hopefully most people will study the template sheet, it is marked F2 bottom doubler but not shown on the plan.
  14. To clarify the situation, I have always been impatient, whether I was doing anything, going anywhere or just waiting for something to happen, doing a job i would keep going till it was finished . Going anywhere, she would say what's the rush, got to be there! " one day you will meet yourself coming back" Speedy Gonzales! Quickies had nothing to do with it if thats what you're thinking Don.🤔

  16. Changing my avatar to Speedy Gonzales, that's what my wife used to call me.
  17. Not such a high viz colour as I thought in a blue sky, the underside showed up better, it did look good, pity the chap who takes the decent videos with his phone was one of the 4 leaving as I arrived
  18. Sunny day not a cloud in sight, wind about 15 mph strong gusts . Four flyers leaving, too windy, I was advised not good for a Maiden flight. I walked over to the flight line with Terry who arrived with me and after some deliberation I decided to give it a try. After checks Terry pointed it into the wind and a gentle launch seen it climb away straight and level, elevator a bit sensitive needed 3 notches of down, ailerons OK on low rates but need high for a decent roll after 4.5 minutes brought it in to land, a bit tricky with the gusts but OK second time round 45% left in the battery. On landing the motor mount came loose so advise beefing it up with triangle balsa. Very pleased with the results, another winner from Richard.
  19. All set up and batteries charged, Fingers crossed for the weather, very windy right now. To all 190 builders sand the plastic parts before painting plastic primer alone is not enough.
  20. Started with the decorations, well it is Christmas. Due to an oversight mine were not in the kit so I am making my own, I have some offcuts of matt white vinyl so after masking it is sprayed matt black, both sides and underneath done, pity the wing top ones are different to the underneath or they would have been finished. Time to get ready now off for Christmas Dinner with the family.
  21. Credit to you Paul for your part in the development . Mine is not based on one of the craptured versions
  22. Let's hope it doesn't go down the pan. I picked up the wrong tub when looking at the colour just, it is Duck Beak not Luxurious velvet. Realised it when I started putting the 2nd coat on.
  23. White band sprayed on in matt primer Black mat primer sprayed behind cowl, brown B and Q stock tester pot Luxurious walnut coat1 brushed on. Bad choice for painting on brown paper 😠 . The pilot of the original Erich Rudorffer survived the war and died in 2016 aged 99. The pilot of this Warbirds version Eric Robson survived the war and hopes the plane survives the Maiden.
  24. Cut approx 10mm from the sheet offcut the side came from and glue to the side perfect fit. Trim to suit canopy.
  25. Our club had a drone flyer join during the easing of covid restrictions, after a year he did not renew as his house backed on to a field and he could not see the sense of paying over £100 to fly over our field.
