  1. This is is my latest build - it's called Marabu, 2.6 metre span electric from a plan from Czechoslovakia
  2. Hobby King sell a Turnigy 2650mAh 3S 1C Lipoly Tx Pack for £9.60 (plus postage) for the 9X
  3. Hi Andy, yeah, I did see your method to, both have merits of ease of use and suit different servo types, I have a plethora of standard size servos hence David's method struck a chord as C of G can be maintained better with this size, now, how to make that joint in the fuselage invisible???? 😊
  4. David, You have just opened up a whole new world of double bay biplanes for me with that method of split fuselage and servo mounting, so simple! Why didn't I think of it! Ken
  5. Hi Tony, My choices would be: (1) Hawker Hart/Hind/Nimrod (2) Gloster Gladiator (3) How about a WW1 Bristol M1C? 50" to 60" span, electric or I.C. Ken
  6. I've always felt that the tail plane is over engineered and could be lightened quite easily by using a more conventional approach to its structure, also, the fin and rudder could be lightened by using a laminated outline - my opinion only obviously!
  7. That's the one Tony, thanks for that 👍, now to search for more details
  8. Hi Tim, I've read your thread for the Fly Fly Hawk and this one looks different - no retracts, fuselage internal mouldings etc, did they do a smaller/different one to the one you did?
  9. hi all, long shot but I was wondering if anyone can identify the foam EDF BAE Hawk kit I've been given - see pic, it has no instructions/plans but looks to be a good rendition of the Hawk. It has a wingspan of 40" and was originally purchased about 8 years ago at a show, seems to good to not get put together and flown. Thanks for looking, Ken
  10. Hi, just wondered if anyone else has built the Grosswing design from Aviation Modeller (ADH publishing)? I've just started mine and am using the laser cut parts, a LOT of fettling required I think!
  11. There you go, all it needed was a prod in the right direction - JRman I think I love you! All sorted now, many many thanks to all for comments and assistance Ken
  12. As far as I can see you can't assign switches on this TX, channel 5 is retracts, channel 6 is used for separate aileron servo's, as I said, it was working fine, my worry is that if it's a software problem, is it going to affect any other channels without warning. Looks like sending it to JR is going to be the final outcome 😒 Ken
  13. Hi Chris, I've been through the screens and can't find an option to inhibit/de-inhibit it, do you know of one? - I am renowned for being a bit fick when it comes to this sort of thing! Ken
  14. Hi all, having troubles with my JR DSX9 retract channel not working, the indicator on the monitor screen does not move when selections are made, I've 'con' checked the switch and the cables going to the boards which does indicate that the 'hardware' is OK and circuit opens and closes with switch selections, was working while I was setting up my model but now kaput! All other channels seem to be OK, Any ideas for problem solving? Ken
  15. Hi all, thought I would post a positive vote for Hobbyking UK, ordered some electric retracts and control horns yesterday afternoon, they arrived this lunchtime, seem to be good quality and work a treat, time will tell of course but so far YAY!! - great service Ken
  16. I had a similar thing with a window sill myself - the boss had one of the 'posh' air fresheners that has a replenishable smelly stuff reservoir, she had a small spillage that stripped the paint around the bottle!!
  17. Oh, thanks for that Jez - ronseal varnish is OK then?
  18. This may be a daft question but is car rattle can acrylic paint 'fuel proof' against petrol?, I want to paint the cowling and other bits of my BUSA Citabria Pro with it and I'm fitting a petrol engine
  19. Hi Adrian, I'd be interested in the second one if its still available - PM me please
  20. Well we both survived the operation and it works a treat!! - I've used a 3600 3s Lipo which should last a while
