  1. Looking at the banggood pictures it looks the same as the ninja250 I have in front of me, battery looks the same also... Bob, please Could you check under the canopy/bubble, is there a "vacant" white 3pin connect block on the PCB r/h/s? I have e mailed j Perkins but don't expect a reply untill the new year. Mine also does not do what it says on the box...
  2. Thanks for the reply, I used to be a Llyn club member, but transport problems ( mother in law passeda away so lost diggs ) prevents us from travel to there. Brilliant club and slope soaring site. Will persevere with the ninja, very small hops to begin with. Wish me luck. Your relatively local to Penrhos then?
  3. Anyone else got a Twister ninja250 helo? How is yours and how well does it auto take off and land ? Over
  4. I got one of these for Xmas, the red one above. It's a Twister all right. It did that all by its self. Press button A and its supposed to auto take off and hover at 1.5m. yeah right. Bounced off the kitchen ceiling and crashed. Control system not good, auto gyro not much better. 4 crashes later and it's tethered flight for now. Helo seems badly out of trim and not controlable. Anyone else finding this ? Over
  5. Nice, lots of pics, not read yet but will use your knowledge and experience on/of the electric power set up...merry Xmas and new year, stay safe
  6. Galaxy, underpowered with Cox 049, ended up with a nose pow 19. I feel it till it didn't want to fly anymore...
  7. Mini skyman +Cox 09, vertical and just keeps going...high speed level L/H wing tip flex, violent stuff but recovered ok...moral, power ain't everything...
  8. Thanks for the heads up, will chase a new spray bar and needle in the new year. Paw is still going but spray bar slightly larger diameter meaning "carb Venturi" slightly restrictive, less engine power. Merry Xmas everybody, happy new year and stay safe. Safe aeromodeling is no accident!
  9. Wanted, spray bar and needle for DC sabre ? 1 1/2cc diesel please ...
  10. This is worrying as I was/am thinking of getting a new spectrum tx and Rx. Do Standard Futaba servos fit and work with spectrum stuff. Was thinking of the cheaper less expensive spectrum radio gear as I have a very tight budget
  11. In the car and bike world you can check HT delivery and relative strength with a red neon plug cap which flashes as HT passed thru, with the plug in, but sizes of plug and access may prevent Thier use on model engines? Is this a self contained system with "crank Genny coils" or is it a battery dependant system? Crank sensor "keyed" to crank? Bike/lawn mower etc., Has fuel and spark but does not run? Suspect sheared flywheel Woodruff key...
  12. Also think about removable tailplane and evevator and rubber fun and rudder.
  13. Hi Terry, yes Viagra!! Crawl, walk, run then marathon. Similar with biking, I bet you didn't start with a z1 eh. As a biker you will have good observation, scanning and hand skills not to mention a 6th sense. Your 1/4 way to flying a fixed wing as you have help skills. Don't know the models mentioned but you need a model that will break down to fit in a box that t fits the bike, so a 2 piece wing? Go for a flat bottom wing to start, research Clarke y section, easy to make from balsa or even veneered foam. May be a veneered foam model kit for a quicker start. Say out loud ( then in your head ) "when the plane is coming towards me, prop the dipping wing with the stick" until you think it automatically. What is the longest 2piece wing you can safely have on your bike, don't forget fuselage lenght.
  14. Don't forget insurance. Maybe a powered glider rudder/elevator/power. Later use it for slope soaring, then add aileron wing, then when you can fly the socks off that progress onto something bigger. What bike you got? Larger models are easier to see and fly. It's better to make the plane your self, you know how it's made so will be better at fixing it. Build it light, so no aerobatics until next model .
  15. The model was glow powered probably with an OS 15 or 20, built and flown by an oldish gentleman club member. It was not being flown hard and from memory ( I saw it fail in the air and crash ) the wing failed in a slight banked turn to its starboard side, failing beyond the fuselage on its port wing root area. It shattered on arrival with terra firma. The hieght at the failure was about 1 1/2 mistakes high. I tend to use spruce spars and have not had a wing or structural failure, yet.......not many rocket sticks about after Nov 5th......only found 6 or 7 this year. 16. If this is the amilia I think it is, a free plan from a mag way back in the day, I had a brief flight of one of these. It seemed very heavy in flight but ok. Later that afternoon the owner/builder was flying it, and it suffered a wing failure. I sure I have the mag and plan as it looked a good model.
  17. Thanks engine doctor, perhaps some parts from the "scrap" Magnum gp40 may be for sale, like piston with rod and the cylinder sleeve, and possibly the carb, or even the complete dead engine? Anyways that's for after Xmas. Not yet learnt who to post pictures via the phone, no land line or internet at home except via the phone....Gunnar need the lads help with them me thinks😁
  18. Hi Andy, would a "zero" mean anything to you, coal ?
  19. I am back in the aeromodeling/radio control model aircraft hobby again after many years, at least 20. I have re joined the bmfa as a country member, as my nearest club, Llyn, Penrhos, is some miles away. Whilst a Llyn club member I achieved the A powered flight award and was at the time fully ready for the B test, and gained the Bronze slope soaring achievement. I have no intention of doing any r/c flying untill the spring etc. apart from indoor mini cooper stuff. I may fly the 2 channel r/e powered glider and the 2 channel slope soarer a/e planes for training/re training to get back into the swing of things rather than straight in with the wot4 ish ( shadow, ian silcocks ) 4 channel plane. Where can I take the new competence test for model flying please ? I consider myself to be a re newbie.
  20. I contacted Weston and they e mailed back very quickly ( take note vosa who are not even accepting e mails at the moment, on Xmas holidays probably ) saying the Magnum gp40 is a thunder tiger, and not from the Weston range. Will try just engines next...
  21. Thanks for the heads up, the PTFE round bar stockist has loads of stuff, need a small adjustable reamer for an old bike engine....will also contact Weston about the top hats...
  22. From memory that looks like a flyboy...
  23. Dam phone predictive text, I'm in control not you dam phone! Help, helicopter the one on the banner on here, even lands and takes off and hovers all by its self! What next, driverless cars?
  24. Ps, that help for Xmas please santa, I have the wife's permission now, and a dedicated but smallish model room to boot, a lucky boy indeed😀
  25. A full loft and a long list. Been out of the hobby for last 20 years as we had to move from my birth town☹️. Home town had large deserted beach in winter, hills at the back of town, and a harbour lagoon for the boats, heaven really, all west facing. Our local now is not suitable for model flying, but there are some suitable hills and a beach within 5 miles. Moped now tax and MOT exempt so small models for now. I started in the sixties with control line and diesels. 2 channel stuff was cheapish in the 70' and the mother in law lived on the llyn peninsula, slope soaring heaven. Every week end up to hers etc.. I saved and saved and got the high boy, gp40 and Futanari 6 channel set. I have made loads of plan models and converted FF to 2 channel......I have quite a few engines....and from the new year, lots of time...but will start again as I am a bit rusty and out of practise. At the time, I passed A test with the hiboy, and could do the book for B test with the 4 channel, but then the forced move happened...and here we are.
