Winter is here....who's been flying?
cymaz replied to Chris Walby's topic in Flying Field Reports and Chat
I began using Aspen 4 a few years back. Much longer shelf life than “ ordinary” petrol, more refined. Seems ok to me. More expensive though -

Thanks Martin, all will be revealed over the next few months. We've also, ( Brian’s idea), decided to add flaps! -

As Christmas is fast approaching. I’m sure you’ve all written to Santa asking for maybe “ just one more flying thing “ This is proved correct by a simple mathematical proof.... P= N+1 P is the ideal number in the hangar N= the number of aircraft already owned. I’m off to write my begging letter......

No flying as yet this winter. Car issues, family commitments etc. However, this has given time to 4 little jobs/ maintenance. -
I hadn’t realised!! Just glad they’re sending me a new bit🤗

Just had a reply to a question.. I bought some bolts etc including a 3mm drill bit. Everything arrived promptly but when using the bit ...it was out of true, bent! Within a couple of hours I’d had a reply and a new one is in the post. My, what service ! “We’re sorry to hear of the problem – unfortunately we can’t play the video file you sent but if you say it’s bent then that’s good enough for us. It’s a first for us to be honest – and must have occurred during manufacture. The high speed steel is so hard and therefore quite brittle, if you tried to bend it, it would instantly fracture. So presumably it happened before the final hardening process. Sorry we didn’t notice it before dispatch – will post another out to you in tomorrows (Fridays) post.”

Galaxy Models Mystic or Phoenix for a Laser 155.

So I’ve been told, the effect of a square trailing edge is to increase the efficiency of the moveable surface. It “elongates “ the air , increasing the effective surface……if that makes any sense 🤔
