  1. Fully automatic - "nothing can go wrong, can go wrong, can go wrong..............."
  2. Try the archives at Flypast, one of Key Publishing magazines. I believe the airfield was "St Just" back then or maybe a similar name. I flew to the Scillies on a BEA seaking in '71 from Penzance and a Rapide was still doing pleasure flights then from Lands End I believe.
  3. Might be bulkier but I'll stick with an ex Army ammo box that cost £10!
  4. Thumbs up from me as well for all the above. No worrying about wharehouses in different countries and the unknown postage mysteries!
  5. Just bought one for playing with a mini multi rotor on DSMX. So far im impressed with its easy use. Ordered a lipo for it but being told March before in stock! Before anyone shouts the drone is for indoors with the grandkids! Im a fixed wing oily hand man rest of the time.
  6. I agree with Andrew Ray. Its the first of Jan for God's sake. Lets be a bit optimistic please. I have never had so much gear in my life as now and at very reasonable prices. Back in the late 60s early 70s I struggled getting stuff and paying for it, often looking for S/H gear. I still have Futaba but with FrySky gear attached and I have an Aurura 9 witha lot of Hitec gear. I remeber getting excited when I got a Futaba Gold set second hand years ago - thought it was the dogs doodahs at the time ! Lets look forward. Lots of good stuff going to happen. Shove the doom and gloom.
  7. Evo 15 works well in Seagull Funky cub. About same size as Carbon Cub.
  8. Thanks Jon. I knew the previous owner well, now sadly deceased and the engine was run rarely but I had no idea it was as old as the nineties! I will try it in my test bench and then get in touch again. Many thanks for your rapid response.
  9. 10 that could goafter a charge. 1 getting a new petrol motor, 1 scale been building for 3 years, 1 nude electric being covered, small Aldi heli to keep grandkids amused and an Inductrix drone I won in this years club dinner raffle. Cost me a bit to get a DSMX trannie to get that going though! I think some of us may have more serviceable aircraft than the RAF!
  10. Thanks Jon. Will try and do with my tablet! Be a first for me!
  11. Hi, Got a Laser engine with a purple anodised carb and P2 on the engine mount lugs. It also has a 6 finned cyl head. Just need to know if its a 90 or 91 if anyone can help please. Its probaby 8 to 10 years old or thereabouts. Thanks everyone.
  12. Everyone knows that Fairies dont die - that would be cruel!
  13. Yes, very sad news. Feeling my mortality now - my 68th birthday was last week! Thoughts with all his family at this time of year. Great musician.
  14. Tend to agree with Gonzo. Primary radar pulses are pretty high power and travel a long way. They come from a Klystron ( back in my day at NATS anyway). Secondary radar (equates to transponders) also complex to carry all the data needed for a regional ATC to manage eg Swanage. They have more tha enough to manage with both military and civil passenger carrying full-size and all the VFR traffic as well. They really dont need drone UAVs (multirotors) To try and manage as well! IMHO for what its worth although I appreciate the commercial benefits of multirotors.
  15. Have an Irvine 46 in mine. On song it goes like the proverbial stuff off the shovel! My other Wot4 had an SC52 4 stroke in but a bit more staid so about to try an Irvine 53 in it. Looking forward to it!
  16. Glynn, Nope, not even in the bath! Missus isnt a fan of IC exhaust sadly, even with the window open. She wont let me run my planes in the kitchen either!
  17. Erm! I built a Vic Smeed designed boat(Moonglow) back in the early 70s while wife was in hospital with a Cipolla IC engine . (boat had the Cipolla, not wife!)Took it to local lake, waders on etc to find council had removed clay, water had drained so no boating. Still have boat, not sailed yet! Working on the assumption that councils can't drain the sky (although some might want to!) But variety is the spice of life - give it a go.
  18. Yep. All the very best to everyone for Xmas and if anyone can curtail the wind a bit for next year even more best wishes. Ok I know the soarers like a bit of wind and best wishes to all of them as well. Here's hoping for lots of goodies from the man in the red outfit (Steve Webbs longest day may help as well!)
  19. I wonder if HK will announce a new site to put everything right! I'll be managing without them whatever. Still admiring everyone's patience and perseverance though.
