  1. Sorry John, people who pirate RC simulator software and sell it with hacked dongles only take money away from the developers who actually put the work into creating the software.  Not good for any of us who want such products to continue to be developed.   I've removed the URL from your post.
  2. A very interesting build in prospect here Vecchio.  Shows how easy we have it these days compared to the challenges of yesteryear.  And I suppose a kit like that was viewed as the easy option when compared to building from plans.   I'm not sure I agree with you by the way about a profiled tail not affecting the flight characteristics.  I've always found models with profiled tails to be far more progressive and less "grabby" in pitch changes.    Be sure to keep us informed of the ways you find around the problems
  3. Have you tried contacting Tony direct via the contact details on his website?:   Tony Nijhuis Designs
  4. I would have thought you'll get away with it if you fly a nice sedate level flight, but get some speed up in a dive then pull back and it might be sycamore-leaf time.
  5. Great pics Alex.  That Salto in pic 1 is giving me orientation issues trying to figure out which way it's heading
  6. Great stuff!  They're fun little models aren't they?  I converted mine to a glider and launched it from a pylon on top of my Easystar.     By the way, I converted your URL so it is clickable.  If you have a read of this you'll see how to do it: Linking within posts
  7. Am I imagining it, or is the cover a thicker gauge of paper this month, and it seems to have a glossier finish to it too?
  8. Yes David, you will find it printed on the address label of your first magazine.  Enter it in "My Details" and you're all set.

  11. Gazzah, The EZ links are used by many folks and appear in a number of ARTFs as standard hardware.  I'm not aware of them causing crashes although they can be a bit fiddly to assemble.  I'd have no qualms about using them.   By the way, I fixed your link for you.  Could you please read this:  http://www.modelflying.co.uk/forums/postings.asp?th=11808   Thanks a lot
  12. They certainly didn't count on our modern forensic analysis techniques Eric.
  13. Jonathan,Obviously they didn't!     The proof is quite incontrovertible, as you can see here. ... ....   I trust this will be the end of the matter
  14. Hi Jamie and welcome to the forum
  15. My love of the hobby began as a kid, with trips to the local model air show held annually at West Malling airfield in the 1980s.  A few years later as a teenager my interest in RC models was peaking but my finances were in a deep trough and I just couldn't get into RC flying for real, so I lived the hobby vicariously by renting every book on RC from the local library and with a subscription to RCM&E.  Eventually life took over and my interest in the hobby was put on a shelf, unfulfilled.   Fast forward to my early thirties, 5 years ago and finally I had the resources, time and determination to do something about the passion so I joined a local club, learned to fly and since then have been busy making up for lost time, as the number of airframes hanging around my tiny flat will attest!   These days I fly most things from scale warbirds through fast flying wings, EDF and 3D aerobats but my biggest interest is in the last category.  I entered my first competition last year, the RCM&E Freestyles at Wellingborough and I intend to carry on competing because there's nothing better for improving your skills.  I said goodbye to IC last year and now only fly electric.  It's the future dontcha know?!        Edited By Chris Card - Moderator on 28/04/2010 07:05:40
  16. Ha!  That shows how much I know...!  So much for my comment that the OS 1.20AX wouldn't be powerful enough.  The way that jumped off the ground in a few feet of roll out shows you're absolutely vindicated and I'm a duffer
  17. What about a Sebart Shark? Beginner-friendly handling and the ability to take you into the world or aerobatics. Looks are love-it or hate-it, but if you love it maybe it would be a good 2nd plane for you.
  18. I suspect the rather wide smile is on him
  19. I see no-one's replied David, might be worth phoning Robotbirds to see if they can help you with the info.
  20. Posted by eric loakes on 21/04/2010 16:49:07: ...on a Wok mark 3, ....       Hmm, a wok mark 3 - you have me thinking of Chinese takeaways Eric!   If I understand your problem correctly, when using the DX5 buddy box the throttle doesn't open fully.  I don't know the DX5 but if it is not programmable to increase the throw on the throttle channel then I think you would need to rearrange the linkage so that the DX5 can give you full throttle and reduce the EPA on the DX6 so it matches the DX5.  In other words if the DX5 can't be set to increase the amount of "throw" on the throttle channel, reduce the throw on the DX6 throttle channel and move the linkage to a hole further out on the servo horn so you get full travel at the throttle.
  21. Many congratulations to John Privett who successfully passed his fixed wing B test today at St Neots Model Flying Club!   It must be especially trying to take such a test at an unfamiliar club strip so well done John.Edited By Chris Card - Moderator on 24/04/2010 18:17:33
  22. Stick it on eBay BEB:   "L@@K - R@RE 3D Jigsaw Puzzle, 100 Pieces.  First to see will buy!!!"
  23. Thanks all, that gives me a few more ideas to try. I like a good crisp crust so leaving out the milk powder seems the way to go. I think my last batch of yeast may have been weak as the bread was very dense and tasted sweet, like the sugar hadn't been used up. I have more yeast now so will try again. I use the big 100g doves farm yeast packets which last for ages.
