  1. Hi Gents, My T30 is finished and had one quick check flight. I have a question about the two hatches on the bottom. I assume they were used with an IC version, as a place for the RX battery. My question is, at one end the covers are held with two 3 mm bolts, but nothing at the other, and no notes in the manual (you would expect nothing less), I’ve added wooded blocks and screwed them down. What has everyone else done?
  2. Hi all, I’m in the process of putting my own T30 together. Anyone mind if I tag on with my build on to here? So far I’ve assembled the fuselage, laminating all the various parts with ether Alphatic or super phatic!, so far so good. Front end gone ok, but back end had a bit of an issue, when all slotted together as it had a pronounced twist to the tail post. Shorted by the Flair building jig. Jeff I think you had similar issues with yours? With hindsight I think it would be better to make up two complete sides first then add the formers. Turtle decks have gone on ok but one side is much harder than the other common fault with DW kits. Speaking of common with DW kits, the build complicated by the short lengths of wood used. just love butt joining all the span-wise wing bits spar’s etc.. Instruction; don’t get me started! But it is a little better than the Cloud Dancer I’ve just reviewed not by much. Currently assembling the wings, interesting design!
  3. My Latest little project had its maiden yesterday, a Cloud Dancer T25 by Dancing Wings Hobby. Can you guess who supplied the model kit, all the electrics, and for a bonus point, which glues I used ? ? 1300 mm span, 1147g AUW, 2200mAh 3s LiPo, PO-2830-890 brushless motor.
  4. I'm putting together a Cloud Dancer kit as part of a project for a trainer and general hack. Just wondering if anyone else on here has put one together and what their opinion is of it. I'm interested in, how the completed models preforms with the recommended motor, battery etc. What mods are being made.
  5. Opted for the Sunday due forecast. Impressed by the the variety of models displayed and quality of the flying. Yes the trade row was a little lacking but give it a few years to bed in, Blackbushe was the same at first. That said no local clubs involved either, maybe next year there will be more interest. Good site, the layout works well. Been to other events at Popham, and they always seem to be well organised and parking is easy. I think, hope this will grow into a respected annual event.
  6. Stuphedd I assume you mean the boat and the Glider. ? Classic front covers a true work of art
  7. Can’t deny it, they must have been cousins. I do like the steerable tail wheel on the quickie, same that wasn’t duplicated on the Spatman.
  8. Thank you for the info Paul, Hopefully in the near future we may have some positive news about some of Bowman’s kits, ?? See my item in Septembers RCM&E when its out! Regards Roy
  9. Thanks, Jamie, for the picture. It's a shame, but there doesn't seem to be much around about the Stuntman. Ron Evens post is the only other. Looks like it's a good sports model. Quick up to my DB, added a Sunduster kit to my collection. Bowman Model kits DataBase.docx
  10. That’s a shame, Dave, but possibly not the end of the road! I’ve had a couple of conversations with a chap who has purchased Bowman Kits & we may see the name again. I’ll try & ask about the Super 100” next time I talk to him. Looking forward to seeing next mouths Mag ?
  11. This is the one we are after, at above 1MB for good print quality, or higher if I can get it! The detail are in the personal message I sent this morning. Thanks for the help. ?
  12. Hi Ron, don't quite know know what happened there. I sent you a post, Kevin Crozier would like a higher resolution picture of one of your photos you posted here, if possible.
  13. Been a while since the last post, I assume we're all out getting stick time. Anyway I made a small mod, new undercarriage with bigger wheels. My old aluminium gear has got very soft, I think it's fatiguing from years bending. So I've picked up a length of 2mm x 20mm aluminium, It's easy to cut and bend to shape. This time I'm putting bigger wheels on, to help it run over the grass and moss and not dig in. No spats either, witch should all help with ROGs and landings. Questions is, can I still call her a Spatman? ?
  14. Interesting read ? I’ve excepted a couple of freebees over the years, and enjoyed returned them to flying conditions. 1st was a duroplane acrobat, which was just a wing! Then built a fuselage using parts from my spares box, old drain pipe and odds and ends by scaling up pictures in the instruction found on line. It’s tuff as old boots and ideal for rough weather. 2nd st Leonard model Super Nover 120” glider from the 70s left at club field by someone cleaning a house, still with the Fleet 27mhz Radio. Refurbished and electrified it comes out often in the nice weather and still thermals quiet well. Down side now is I’m running short on storage space, so my turn comings to reduce the fleet.
  15. A little more info here may help. https://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/rc-gliders-sailplanes-slope-soaring-112/7282760-cambria-miri-120"-ever-seen-one-pics.html#&gid=1&pid=6
  16. Had the chance to take the spatman out yesterday for the first time in a bit. On the upside it wasn't raining but yet again it was windy, one day I will get to see how it flies in the flat calm. I took my cameras with me so have all the stills I need & from my hat cam some flying film. Did 3 flights and the one I filmed is the one where I land sideways and knock the gear off, wouldn't you just know it! Still the nylon bolts did what they were meant to, no over damage than that.
  17. Hi Gents, yet another wet weekend? however the good news is I've finished putting the words together for the article. To every one who has sent me pictures thank you very much, they are much appreciated. A quick reminder if anyone else has any more photos to add to the article, now will be a good time to do it. The pictures need to be well focussed and over 1MB to use in print, please include some details about your model to. No date yet when it will appear but appear it will. I have some other news, the Bowman brand along with Airsail should, all being well, be making a come back by the end of the year. Fingers crossed ?
  18. Not one I knew about either until I started looking in to their later kits, & I know zero about the full size. The only thing I do know is there won't be another at our field ?
  19. I went for a nice drive this morning to pick up my latest eBay purchase! Another old Bowman model this one built pre 1982 buy the seller Jim, but not used for many years. Must be my best ebay purchase yet. Jim could have not been more helpful, as we went through the model and motor. Since getting it home I've started going through it checking everything after a long layup. The OS 70 four stroke looks in good order and only a little gummy. Considering it's age the build and finish is excellent, very pleased with It.
  20. Hi Ron it certainly looks a hoot in your video, and blistering quick. Glad you got it all sorted. Every time I’ve had the opportunity to fly my one it been that windy I think I should know better! But it handles it very well.
  21. I read Jon article at the first opportunity, it was good to see how Spiros & his team have been getting alone. My wife & I had our first stay in 2019 & were all set to go back in 2020, but it was not to be. We had a wonderful time & thoroughly enjoyed the food & our time in Corfu. I will admit in 19 some models, the popular ones were a looking a little worn, but they were all kept very flyable. For me if I'm flying someone else's model I don't want it to be perfect just out the box, as I don't want to be the first to put a dent in it, that's too much pressure. When thing return to homeware near normal the wife & I will be booking up again that's for sure.
  22. Nice one Bob I hadn't seen the Magister thanks for chipping in with that one, any build threads, photos etc... Thanks List updated Bowman Model kits.pdf
  23. On the up side you didn't need to remember which model memory to use, what function on which switch ? Just hope the local CB club weren't in the area!
