  1. A stollen and biscuit mountain. With toffees (and I don't have a sweet tooth !). Some sweat shirts. More sweets (Quality Street). The only model related present was a laser cut bulldozer kit. Fortunately I had taken the precaution of buying myself one of these to build.
  2. The BMFA have put the request out for us to respond to the information request. This is our association requesting us to support them in their efforts to minimise any further restrictions on our hobby. If you can all spend time and effort moaning a bucket load on this thread, then you should have time to fill in the questionnaire. That would be a little more constructive, don't you think ?
  3. I just submitted mine. it took an hour to complete !!! I feel sorry for the people who have to process them all. I don't think they will be using AI. I bet they aren't unpaid volunteers like the BMFA.
  4. A very good friend of mine is an artist and every year she designs her own cards. A few years ago she did one which was a winter landscape and if you looked very carefully in the background were a couple of reindeer "performing". The message inside read "In seasons Greetings"
  5. I would cut a hole in the fuselage to take the battery (it would balance better). Looking at it I think it would be a nice cheap model to build for club competition. Not huge amounts of balsa and with some cheap chinese covering. Maybe tweak the plan to a more modern format for printing, but not much more.
  6. Maybe a contender for the "electric" treatment Pete ?
  7. I'll save you the trouble Pete. ☺️
  8. Hi Paul. There is the best way and the most profitable way, plus variations. If you want maximum profit, then sell individually but don't forget. Time is valuable ! If you want easiest, then through the local auction house. I would suggest (as others have done) that to get a good return at minimal expense (only Facebook, Gumtree and on this forum are free), then to contact Manny at BMFA. I know he will give you honest advice and if it means anything to you then the BMFA auctions are usually attended by model enthusiasts like your father, rather than auction scavengers who are looking to move on and take profit.
  9. Having received the latest email from HobbyKing I was intrigued by what seems to be their latest marketing ploy. They are (again) offering discounts on items which haven't yet arrived in the country, but apparently are on their way. Very interesting. Particularly when you consider that after a short period (until stocks run down a bit) they then offer "clearance" discounts. I get the impression that the new UK warehouse is probably not very big and has room outside for a shipping container. Possibly only employing a couple of people. This opinion is based on the fact that very shortly after the first shipment the UK warehouse quickly ran out of stock. I am not knocking them as they provide a service that helps preserve our hobby. Whether the far east production / pricing is ethical is another matter for debate, which I don't intend to go into. I am amused by the strategy of asking for a 100% up front deposit. Not even UK builders get away with that one ! 😁
  10. All this avoiding / breaking laws is ok, but enventually somebody will find a way making money from policing it (probably lawyers).
