Klippy
Yup! you put us all to shame Tim. Lovely model. Any chance we can know the manufacturer of the ESC? Then we can all stay away from them!
Peter Miller
Great Flying shots. They should be happy with them! Did you cut out all your own numbers? I am lazy and get someone on Ebay to cut mine out. They are not always perfect with regard to size or style but they are neater than I could do them
Tim Hooper
Posted by Tony Prince on 09/04/2010 07:29:48:Yup! you put us all to shame Tim. Lovely model. Any chance we can know the manufacturer of the ESC? Then we can all stay away from them! Let's just say it was a no-name cheapie from eBay, shall we? Actually it had served well in a previous model, so I suspect it was just the configuration of my installation that was the root cause of the glitching. Still, it's been consigned to the bin now, so that's the en of that! Peter, Who do you use on eBay? What I did was to download a freebie font (USAF Amarillo), and use MS Wordart (comes included in MS Word) to design the lettering. The beauty of Wordart is that it lets you reverse the registrations into a mirror image, which is then printed out. The mirror image printout is then glued to the reverse side of some Solartrim with sprayglue, and then carefully cut out with a scalpel. Start to finish took about 2 hours for all the lettering on Rivets. Probably not the most efficient method in the world, it's true, but it does the trick for me! tim

Phil E
Hi Tim, Made a start on Rivets last night, really looking forward to this one! Quick question on motors. Any thoughts on other suitable units or power required overall for decent performance? Just wondering if I've got something to hand rather than buying anew. Regards, Phil Edited By Phil E on 12/07/2012 09:59:
Tim Hooper
Hi Phil, Without wading through lots of online ads, I'd plump for something that will spin a 8" prop and pulls around 200 watts on 3 cells. Say a 1200 Kv. Typhoon tim
Joe Wotton
Hi Tim,I have the plans for your Rivets but I missed the R.C.M.E. mag that it was published in as I would like to know more about the method of construction. Can you tell me which back number I need to order so I can get started on this lovely looking airoplane. Thanks, Joe Wotton
Tim Hooper
Hi Joe, and welcome to the forum! The Rivets article was printed in the JUly 2010 issue. Mind you, back in those days I kept fairly comprehensive build threads on the RC Groups forum. You might find this as useful as the printed mag..... http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1157966&highlight=rivet tim Edited By Tim Hooper on 11/11/2012 21:09:

Joe Wotton
Hi, despite really wanting to get down to building the Rivets I find that my building time is at a premium. Does anyone know someone who would build one professionally for me? any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks Joe Wotton.
