ericrw
I've just bought a pair of JPerkins, mechanical Retracts for my FMS Mustang. The problem appears to be that the ( my computer is now printing in red;I don't know why) connection for the servo wire is at the front, inline with the leg. But my servo's are towards the rear . Which means I can't connect the servo to the retract. Each of my retracts have their own servo and they cannot be repositioned at the front. I don't if I'm missing something but I would appreciate any help to resolve this perceived problem. Eric.
Danny Fenton
Hi Eric, The servos really do need to be inline with the actuating rod. If you cannot move the servos can you fit a bellcrank to bring the servo output forward? D
Steve W-O
I'm not sure that I understand, but if I did, I was going to suggest a 90deg crank
Stefan Hafner
Could you take the sides off and flip the part that the leg fits into over to make it operate the other way?
ericrw
Stefan, I was hoping I would be told that to dismantle the retract would be ok but I'm inclined not to attempt that until I know it is possible, as I may have to return them back to the shop. Any other idea's are welcome !!
ericrw
Just had a close look at the retact and it would not be possible to have the actuating rod in the opposite direction to the leg shaft.
