Hi guys.

I bought this model last year, and had started some of the build then. It is a very comprehensive kit, I added the optional air retracts with my order, and bought 4 of the specific outrunners destined to drive the 4 scale diameter 3 blade props as also provided in the kit.

I have just got back onto her, and here are some details:

I will provide more pictures as I go, current staus is all four motors and ESC's with associated wiring installed. All servos installed with the exception of the rudder.
Controls still need hooking up,but am close to finishing her now. I purchased some better looking scalewise 3.5" dia Sullivan SkyLite wheels to replace the non scale dia. ones in the kit.

I am making my own artwork, and have been working on that too today. I have chosen to finish her in 'Idiots' Delight' an aircraft which served with the 332nd Bomb Squadron, 94th Bomb Group and later with the 710th Bomb Squadron, 447th Bomb Group. She was lost on operations in the channel later into WW2.

Memphis Belle decals are included in the kit, but I've decided to go my own way.

Here are some pics, if you have any questions, please ask!

Cheers

Matt

Thanks Danny, like you and your Spit and the great Battle Of Britain movie, I was seduced by the TV series made in the USA 'Twelve O'Clock High'

I have watched all of the episodes, and is definitely motivating!

This B-17 is amazing value too, beautifully constructed, and it should look wonderful in the air, I wonder if any other UK modellers have bought one, or even considered it...

I think I'm alone....

Cheers!

Got some more done today- The props are marked with yellow tips with logo's from the waterslide decal sheet.
Dummy motor fitted, and the outrunner heads painted grey.

Tomorrow, time to get the rudder installed and set about carving and painting some extra crew members.

Cheers

Matt

I had an issue with one of my motors, seems it has duff bearings. Philip (owner of PW-RC) in China has agreed to supply me a replacement motor, no questions asked, even though I bought them last yearb but haven't ran any of them yet, it was kind of grindy when turning by hand.
I have to say, he is a great vendor, and treats each customer like they are the only one, good guy!

Here is a short video I made today to show him the motor doesn't seem right:
