Tom Wright 2
Yup Martyn that's the one very good value and really good all round performance ,i added a 1m center section to one of mine and the thermalling performance is brilliant ,just a sniff of rising air and its away. But the standard ARTF kit is just fine the video gives Collin a good idea of what to expect. ColinHarris
When it comes to covering the framework can you overlay the the plastic film? That is, can you cut out patterns/stripes etc and stick them ontop of the covering thats already there>
Ernie
Hi Colin, You bet you can It's useful to create a plan of your glider on the computer, on graphics software (photoshop is best) and work out the designs on that ernie

Tom Wright 2
Collin the cherub comes ready covered. But as Ernie suggests you can use solar trim and a number of other products to add decor, to models that require you to do the initial covering .Overlaying solar-film or oracover etc can be done OK but may need a bit of practice. ColinHarris
Are there any video guides covering this anywhere?
Tom Wright 2
Collin put covering into the search box at the top of this thread. Tom.

Tom Wright 2
Colin. It sounds like deciding on the location of a club or flying site is your first priority. Tom.
ColinHarris
Yeah you are probably right Tom. Think I'll still go out and pick up a little trainer plane just to tide me over and get the feel of things. Like this perhaps... http://www.airtekhobbies.com/popsukhoi.html Edited By ColinHarris on 17/05/2011 19:00:
Tom Wright 2
Collin. I do think before you buy anything it would be a good idea to spend some time at a local club or at least contact an experienced R/C modeler in your area . ColinHarris
Thanks Tom, is it a slow flyer? I really want something that doesn't whizz around too fast as I'm worried about losing control. Have you got the link to the model above?Edited By ColinHarris on 19/05/2011 09:19:
Tom Wright 2
Hi collin , You need to join a club and get some instruction. How fast lightly loaded models go is generally a matter of how far the throttle is opened ,and were you point the nose. Just google BRC hobbies for more details of the model.Edited By tom wright 2 on 19/05/2011 18:31:
ColinHarris
Doesn't say whether it comes with a controller or not. (?)
Wiltshire Flyer
I agree with Tom, sounds to me like you are very confused Colin, you need to join a club so that you can have really good chin wags with those in the know and actually see some models flying etc... As fantastic as this forum is, sometimes there is no substitute for good ol fashion "hands on" and a long chat with a group of people that can not just advise you but actually show you things as well, plus you get to make some friends at the same time, bargain! Good luck with it Colin
Ben B
It might be worth considering the Multiplex Xeno. Folds in half for travel and fairly strong for learning prangs. Worth considering anyway.... It's not a glider though it glides well off power.
