Paul Williams
I have noticed after some time the yellow tygon fuel pipe goes stiff. I am using it as a clunk pipe in the tank. This prevents the clunk from weighting the pipe to the bottom of the tank. NOT GOOD. Is there a more flexible option that would be petrol resistant? Wingman
Presume because its tygon that you are using petrol in which case silicon is no good as it swells up. You could try neoprene.

Wingman
Paul, look here - note also soft tygon also maybe a heavier clunk?
Steve Hargreaves - Moderator
Yes, I too, have heard that not all Tygon is created equal with some being softer & longer lasting than others...... Might be worth trying a different "brand"....
Engine Doctor
An alternative is Nitrile tubing used for petrol and oil applications its als ok for model diesel fuel . Its black and come in all sizes . It will eventually harden but with a proper heavy petrol filter clunk it should last a couple of seasons . I believe falcon aviation sell it but it can be found on the internet quite easily.
