Hugh Coleman
SO, how are you managing to sheet the wings without the wing secured to the board and not introduce warping or twisting? Hugh
Tony Bennett
you pin it down when sheeting the top of the wing.then when its dry, turn over and cut the rib tags off and sheet the underside.
Robin Kearney
I've just stumbled across this thread, can I just say wow. What an undertaking, although it sounds like you are enjoying it. They look lovely. r. p.s. I just know if I tried to build four of the same 'plane at the same time I'd end up with eight left wing panels ! Keith Simmons
Double !!! You mean you are going to build two 132" span Lancasters? Wow. Perhaps the next time I look, it may come with three, then FOUR Lancasters...
Tony Bennett
well wing 1 not touched. wing 2 has been sanded and got the l/e glued on. wing 3 has u/c bearers glued in and now sheeted. wing 4 has t/e sheeted and 1 set of u/c bearers gluing. tomorrow i will get the l/e done on wing 3 and wing 4 fully sheeted and l/e on. also all the wing tips will be made and glued on, then its a case of sanding to shape. next week we hope to have the wings fitted and the wing to fuselage fairings done. then its a case of the nose's, final sand over, covering, fitting the tails on and paint. wheels have arrived so i can start to play with the u/c. ps, i is broke again now. Terry Walters
Still watching with amazement, admiration and the forlorn hope that one of the intended owners decides not to have theirs after all and to take up card marking or knitting instead! Terry Walters
Good on you Tony - that looks good. They'll all want a bespoke one now. By the way Stephen asked me to let you know that he doesn't want his Hurripain anymore and that I could have it instead! I wish..............................
