Tony Bennett
My wife bought me a Hobyking TB-20 as a try to cheer me up present. So when i feel better i will put it together and crash it. £24.95 plus postage for a polystyrene and plastic model, not bad realy. I can fit all the bits from the busted breeze into it as well. Stroudwaterboy
I was very impressed with how well my first delivery from the UK warehouse was packed, being new to the hobby I have been getting quite a few deliveries and this has been the best for product safety so far. I would like to ask Scott if it is possible to inform us when a container has been received and the contents loaded on to the Website as looking at the arrivals screen I cannot work out what is new and what I have already seen. scott cuppello
You need to be logged in to UK Warehouse, then go to "New Items" tab, interesting stuff will come up first, hit "& parts" drop down to see everything.....needless to say, we are waiting for more new stuff to arrive at the moment. Hi Tony, Apart from the battery (3S 11.1v) I transferred everything from my busted Breeze onto a TB 20 bought by my missus to cheer me up. Top tips, the aluminium motor mount does have down thrust but no side, bang in some washers or somesuch to compensate and I had to drill mounting holes to suite. It flies very well but a nose crash WILL result in the fuze shearing behind the wing bolts. Because of this I have glass taped the whole length of the fuze making it now pretty well crash resistant. Detracts from the look a bit but more than makes up in strength with very little added weight. Erfolg
Does any one know if the £7 postal charge for UK purchases is to be reduced for small low weight items. If so is there any indication when it would happen.
Andy Butler
I'm with Erfolg on this one. All I want is a 30amp ESC and at £5 odd it is a bargain but then I have to pay £7.25 postage??? I don't think so.

No customs on a £6 order
Erfolg
I logged onto the UK site so I thought. I wanted to buy film covering, then I realised there is none in the UK it is all located at the "international" warehouse. Of course the mail cost from there would be $17, in itself not worth while, never mind the additional taxes. I did however buy some screws and nuts M2 for a £5. Pathetic really. ross blackwell
Nice to hear the good news on warranties Scott: did you get the information about my "not yet returned" Tx Rx & esc yet? Thanks mate, Ross Blackwell.
ross blackwell
Interesting comments from S-R-B regarding H K after sales (hit & miss) Scott says "you only have to ask" which is exactly what I did two years ago but my plea fell on deaf ears: maybe its because "down under"is so far away? Maybe Scott has a suggestion? Would love to hear from you Scott?

Hi Erfolg, If you're looking for film, try Giantshark - if they've got it in stock () their film is cheap as chips (£10-14 for 5m) and not far short of Oracover in quality and much better than Solarfilm Pete ps just had a look at their site. Given their apparently-worsening stock situation, my cynical self is starting to wonder whether MHS bought them up on behalf of the British model industry just to let the stock supply fail and destroy them as competition......... Erfolg
Hi Pete I had completely forgotten about GS once they took over GS. Gone of Radar! I have just sheared a shaft on a motor from GC, and luckily GS still hold stock items. I will look at their film stock, before ordering some shafts. Thanks Pete
Garbo
PPS Pete B I hope that's not the case considering the recent news on the Galaxy range of kits

I need to clarify my situation I think, firstly, I am still based in Hong Kong and will not be back in the UK until September, secondly, forums are not the place to get my attention, PM's please and remember that there is an 8 hour time difference, I need the purchase number AND CS ticket number, thirdly, I am not CS, I am not plugged into their system (until I return, then I will ONLY deal with UK issues) in fact we are not in the same building.....I am a Product Specialist, fixed wing development and testing in particular....so, best I can do Ross is take up your case with CS and in terms of 2 years ago, with little hope for success, but we can try. Erfolg
Scott With your experience of the UK model trade and UK modellers, your understanding of UK modellers needs and wants must be second to non. I can see the kits coming through, particularly ARTF models. For those of us who build, it is covering film which has a high UK value, yet postage due to weight from HK and the disproportionate effects of customs charges makes personal imports unattractive. To date these are not appearing in the UK warehouse. Yet makes go business for HK and Uk modellers. Witness that GS (Giant Shark) is completely out of film. Can you cajole the UK outlet to stock both ARTF and high cost items for the builders.
scott cuppello
I am working on it from Hong Kong, believe me, a lot of stuff will be easier to sort out once I am in the UK, the postage issue I am giving the "Operations" people a hard time about and they are working on it, as for products, the intention is simple with the UK Warehouse, everything that is available from the Hong Kong warehouse will be available from the UK warehouse.....but it will take time....more containers are on the way. Erfolg
I can imagine Scott that it is very difficult starting from scratch, easier to complain about it. If it were dead easy GC/GS would have got on top of there supply issues, which appear to dog them. A point of interest the Dornier 335 sold via BRC, that you said was a good flyer, still continues to provide me with fun, and also elicits many surprised comments that it both flies, is easy and is fast. A good recommendation, well done. Edited By Erfolg on 12/08/2012 16:52:
Mark Powell 2
I just looked at HobbyKing Entered my location (UK) as requested. Saw something I liked. Preceded by a Union Jack, the price is 206.93 dollars, and 'This item is only available from UK warehouse. In stock'. They can't even be bothered to quote, in the UK, from the Uk warehouse, in our currency. I am not impressed. Erfolg
Mark At the bottom left of the page you can select the currency you want e.g. BP From what has been said it is a consequence of both being an International site and that Paypal is used as an International money transfer agent, that USD is used for the basic pricing, rather than the Chinese Yaun?. Olly P
Erfolg, From my expriance of working in PRC and in HK, USD is the preferred currency for all pricing and manufacturing structures as the Yuan and to a degree the HKD can so easilly be manipulated in exchange rate terms by the Chinese Government.
Erfolg
I do not disagree Olly. Just making the point that HK is pan continental. Not business serving a single, insular market. I would think the implications of HK are frightening to many domestic sales organisations across the world. Is HK a vision of the future?
