Lee Smalley
well after a good 6 month wait for either good weather or the right time, i finally maidened my jet, Baby Boomerang with Jetcat P80 SE, it was a tad nerve wracking, but she flies beautifully needs a heck of a lot of down trim under full flap but lands like a dream grinning like a cheshire cat after a full day of flying her

David Ashby - Moderator
Nice one Lee, I'm sure that's a big relief - make sure you bring it to Greenacres next year so we can all have a go
Djay
congratulations Lee. Maidened mine and done my first solo last week, Boomerang Sprint with Jet Central Super Eagle fitted, wound down a lot. Flew nice, very docile compared to some of the IC and electric planes I fly. Reno Racer
Its a nice feeling isn't it. All that worry and fuss, then you realise you could have/should have tried it sooner; set up correctly they are very smooth and docile. Next thing you know you'll be persuading Mrs Smalley that you now need a scale jet!
Allan Bowker
Nice one Lee, thankfully my wife keeps asking me when I'm going to get a jet.

Lee Smalley
Thanks guys, cheers for adding the link mr hooper, I will get you back ! yeah the model flies so well and so smooth, we have quite a narrow and short strip here at tyldesley but even with no wind she lands very easily and if you can learn mode 1 mr ashby you can have a go !!!! The sight and sound is like nothing else and yet easier to fly than many a scale model I recommend it to all..... Just don't celebrate like I did!! David Ashby - Moderator
Mode 1! I was fortunate enough to have a Tx passed to me last year and flew a Boomerang for a few minutes, as you say, the sight and sound is genuinely thrilling. Lee Smalley
Really do like mb339 ( I think it's called) but the only kit I have seen are massive the baby boomer as she is called is a perfect size really, it is a level up in modelling terms, in preparation radio install and concentration, but so worth it. I have not stopped grinning yet !!
Nev Haycox
Wow, well done Lee, I can only amagine how tense you were before the first flight and how relieved you were to take her home in one piece. Nev.

Lee Smalley
there is a video of of the maiden but to be honest it is not really worth putting on, obviously the maiden was a bit high and handsom, sorry you were dissapointed Garbo, i suppose i was never going to interest you ..... im alive! i will get it and post it anyway, it is not very good but it will give you an idea thanks for that RS yeah i was a bit nervous, but nowhere near as bad as i thought i would be, i think it was because i had been waiting so long to maiden her i was getting fed up, i just wanted to get her into the air, lets face it she is no use just sat in my workshop doing nothing... i might as well not have her!!! Aircraft have to fly
