Biggles' Elder Brother - Moderator
Sounds great Alan, but let us know a bit earlier for next year and I'll certain try to come and join you! Sorry but I'm already booked in elsewhere this weekend! BEB

Sounds like a lot of fun though and I'd like to attend another one. Make sure you report back here afterwards
Allan Bowker
Thanks, I would have posted earlier but the email only went out on Tuesday and I've been run ragged at work this week. www.wmmfc.co.uk Hopefully next time I can give more notice! Ian Jones
Only just found the thread Alan, sorry. Sounds like lots of fun with the opportunity to just spectate or get really involved - whatever level appeals. Hope I can make it if you do it again. Chris Bott - Moderator
How did it go Allan? It looked very breezy this morning but might have backed off a bit this afternoon?
Nev Haycox
I would just like to say a big thank you to the WMMFC for their friendly welcome and hospitality at today’s fun fly, the soup, sausage rolls and doughnuts went down a treat. There was a high level of flying skills displayed in less than perfect flying conditions, you guys made it look easy. It’s a pity I couldn’t have stayed longer but the time I spent with you was very enjoyable. Thanks again. Nev.
Allan Bowker
Thanks Nev, good to see you, Andy Green and few other familiar faces at our low key event. Considering the weather we have had this past week I think we were very lucky to get dry and sunny weather today. If it wasn't for the high winds we would have all been in T-Shirts. The gusts certainly made for some very interesting and challenging flying. I did take the camera with me but I'm sorry to say that I didn't take any pictures. I was having such a great time flying that I totally forgot. Hopefully somebody else will be able to post something? We are a small'ish club with very good facilities, a relaxed culture and although the event is no big showstopper, today has helped to raise the club profile and sign up a few new members (a big result in my book). I think we had about 40 people attend and about 15 different people flying many different types of models, large and small. In summary, a fantastic day's flying, many laughs and hopefully next year we will have more settled weather where we can plan something a bit more in advance. Thanks everyone! . Andy Green
I'd like to second Racing Snakes (Nev's) comments, it was a great day, more chatting than flying for me, but some days are like that. Well organised and friendly day. Looking forward to the next one. Andy

Allan Bowker
Just had word back from the club secretary... "We are planning on holding a Fun Fly in September 2013, however, also trying to second guess the weather and avoid other shows/events". I will keep you posted here as soon as the club sets a date. Thanks for your interest everyone!
Nev Haycox
Hi Allan, I'm not selfish or anything, but, if your club has a Fun Fly Day 2013 please try to avoid the 20th September, I'm away that weekend and don't want to miss out on the doughnuts Nev. Tim Mackey
Lleyn MFC usually hold their long weekend fun fly around the last weekend of September, so best avoid that date too Edited By Tim Mackey on 18/06/2013 15:47:
Allan Bowker
Sorry to report that there is no public open day planned for this year, hopefully the club will arrange one for 2014. I will link from this thread as and when.
