FWAL
Our local Aldi store is selling .95oz/27g 2-component adhesive (methyl-methacrylate) 1 hr cure at £1.99 So if you happen to be passing an Aldi's this weekend it might be worth your while popping in
Bob Cotsford
I saw this yesterday when I got some 'work trousers' - just the job for building and flying, working on the bike and other messy activities (no, we don't need the "then go electric" comments, thank yew). The padded shirts look good for the coming seasons too. My question is, what is 2 part methyl-methacrylate and what benefit would it have over epoxy? Maybe I've usedit under some other name? Martin Whybrow
It's an acrylic adhesive, probably similar to Deluxe Materials Supercrylic; supercylic is great stuff by the way, bonds almost any plastic including LDPE.
Matthew Clive
I dont buy any cheap glue from aldi or lidl. I find it just falls off within a few weeks use or not set hard at all. I've given up with this sort of stuff and always go for the proper named brands now. Panther
To rehash an old thread. I love the Aldi Workzone Superglue. It is as good as Zap or any other name brand I have used and is cheap. Comes in a 2 pack for less than $2. I buy several packs at once now.
Alwyn Gee
I use the Lidl Powerfix Epoxy all the time and it aint let me down yet. Does exactly what it says on the tin packet. Alwyn
Brian Hammond
Poundland Epoxy in syringes is very good,it even has a mixing spatula for good measure and a 50mm clamp for guess how much?
Tangental
Grrrrr! Thought a bargain was forthcoming but the thread's a 3 monthyearold.
Erfolg
Isn't Methylmethacrylate the same stuff as Stablit Express? If so 80g costs £17 when the Henkel label is attached to it. Fantastic stuff, shelf live about 10 years from memory, sticks most plastics to anything. I was told it is used primarily by the medical profession for sticking replacement joints to bone? Even if true not relevant to my uses. So I for one will be keeping an eye out for it.
