David Ashby - Moderator
It's a little way off but many thanks to the Greenacres club who've confirmed the 2013 Fly-in date so mark your diaries for the 22/23 June 2013. See you all there Edited By David Ashby - RCME on 05/11/2012 08:04:
David Gilder
And that confirms it.. Bad planning on my part!! I get married on the 22nd!! Ah well, I'm sure you will all have a blast without me!!

David Ashby - Moderator
Weddings can be re-scheduled can't they Dave?
David Gilder
I think it would be more than my lifes not worth to even mention that to SWMBO!! It would cost me more than just dearly.!!
David Gilder
Will be away in a big metal bird to sunier climate on the 23rd Timbo!! (More expense!!)
Chris Bott - Moderator
The things you'll do to get out of a funfly DG! and there's talk of a mass Phoenix 2000 slot as well
David Gilder
How very dare you Mr CB!! Now I'm very upset!!!!!
Biggles' Elder Brother - Moderator
What sort of feeble excuse is that DG? Bring her along - she'll love it. You might as well start as you mean to go on - she will. A Mass Phoenix 2000 slot eh Chris - what all two of them? Could you do it at night? It might help me get off to sleep! BEB PS Seriously, good news about fixing the date. Edited By Biggles' Elder Brother - Moderator on 05/11/2012 09:55:
Steve Hargreaves - Moderator
David....as all men know Weddings do actually organise themselves so stop worrrying & just push the date back a week.....it'll be fine... You can claim Greenacres as your stag do!! Oh & you can join in the mass Phoenix launch.....a sky filled with Tepid-liners might just encourage BEB to have a go at the Gliding thing...... David Gilder
SWMBO'd is VERY accomodating with regards to my flying already but I really think that moving the wedding and honeymoon would result in a negative impact on future flying comitments!! So in order to safeguard the future I will have to miss the event!! I guarantee my attendance in 2014 though!!
ken anderson.
a man is not complete until he's married---then he's finished........hard lines young DG....... .. ken anderson ...ne...1 ...marriage dept.......
Steve Hargreaves - Moderator
Surely David that will be your first wedding anniversary....... Face it David......you're never going to be at Greenacres again.....SWMBO has stitched you up like a kipper......
David Gilder
Steve, Thats the problem... Weddings do organise themselves and this one is already fully organised with the invites all done aswel!! Stag do already sorted out by the Best man!!! As for Uncle BEB!!!!! He is always welcome to come and fly a tepid-liner or have a go at true gliding anytime he wishes!!!
David Gilder
Heres a daft thought!! Why not reschedule the Flyin!!! [ducks away swiftly before the fighting starts!!!]
David Gilder
Not stitched at all... I already know that she's getting me a new model for a wedding present!!! I have her well trained too!!!
Biggles' Elder Brother - Moderator
If God have intended man to fly gliders he wouldn't have created propellors! Gliders are like Reliant Robins - cars for people who haven't quite got the full idea yet! The Wrights started gliders but moved swiftly onwards. Of course DG has an excuse - his name is an anagram of glider so that's OK. Messers Bott and Hargreaves have no such excuse. BEB
David Gilder
But surely gliding is a more skillfull area of flying.... you watch a prop flyer start sweating when the whirly bit stops and he realises he doesn't know how to glide!!!! We seriously need a Like button on each post as Uncle Beb would certainly of had a Like from me above!!!
Chris Bott - Moderator
So, what bettter than a glider with a prop on the front? A more skillful form of flying AND it uses that propeller thingy. Electric too - ticks all the boxes
David Gilder
And there we have it - the Phoenix 2000!!! The perfect combination of both skill zones!! Go on Beb, You know you want to!!!!!!
Olly P
Will have to check if a wedding invite turns up before i commit
Steve Hargreaves - Moderator
I was going to put a Cox 049 on mine.......yet another box ticked.....
Steve Hargreaves - Moderator
Maybe a little bit of lateral thinking required here......if David can't come to Greenacres maybe Greenacres can come to him??? Just let us know the venue David & all your Greenacres "mates" will come over & celebrate with you.....maybe a little bit of indoor flying too if the hotel is large enough...... Robin Kearney
Hooray for the dates not clashing with Wings and Wheels or the British GP. Hope to be able to attend next year. Thanks to David & the Greenacres club. r .
David Gilder
Thats a very good idea Steve, but wont you all be at Greenacres!!?? Its a 2 hour trek from there to here!! Not enough room inside hotel but lots of space outside and our club flying field is literally 2 mins along the road!!
