wlfk
http://www.halfvalue.com/wiki.jsp?topic=Royal_New_Zealand_Air_Force: The NZPAFs first action came in 1930 when the Moth dropped an improvised bomb made out of a treacle tin on to a ship suspected of gun running. The bomb did no damage, fortuitously, as the target turned out to be a local missionary vessel. K

Terence Lynock
I remember when I woz a kid going up to what was then Birmingham Airport watching Moffs and Rapides and all sorts of other stuff with a predominance of DC3's coming and going, also loads of Viscounts and the early two engined jet airliners like the Caravelle. On sunday the place was closed so all the maintainance bods got their work done and would take us kids down into the hangers and onto the DC3's while they did engine checks and taxiing, during the week there was plenty of traffic but it all stopped at 10 p.m in the summer because nothing took off after dark. There were some lovely Tigger Moffs there plus Ansons and other ex-military hardware,my favourite was the Dragon Rapides though as they looked so dainty and fragile with long tapered wings and thin struts, wish there were more of them still around, regards, Terry
