Steve Hargreaves - Moderator
Super Slinky with a 40 in it should be interesting....I think AW designed it arounf the OS25.... Using mini servos would add up to a useful weight saving in what is a fairly small model IMHO...
chris edwards 3
i think the mini servos might help to reduce the overall weight of the model i have found these servos would these do the job or would you recomend anything better? chris
Bob Cotsford
I've got several of the TowerPro MG16Rs which have proved pretty good though they are a couple of pounds more than the E-Powers.
Worden
Hi Chris I have just changed the old OS 25 in my Slinky to an SC 32. Goes very nicely now but I have had to add weight to the tail for a COG approx 70 mm back from the leading edge. Servos are 22.5g for elevator and rudder, 9g for throttle and 16g x 2 for aileron. AUW is still a shade under 3lb.
Ernie
Hi Chris, wouldnt risk cheap servos in any plane they miht be OK, but just one falure can lead to a disaster of potentially huge proportions, and a wrecked model ernie
chris edwards 3
for the ailerons would 16/17g servoes be ok or would standard size be better?
Worden
Chris These are the servos I used for the ailerons in my Slinky, as powerful as many standard size. I have used them in several models and not had a problem so far. Servo
chris edwards 3
thanks for the info worden, i was thinking about these for the ailerons and these for the elevator, rudder and throttle. should these do the job?
Worden
I have used the 380 in its Bluebird form and they seem pretty good. No experience of the HXT I'm afraid. I used these for elevator and rudder, more expensive but they are one of the nicest servos I have tried. Only limited use so far but if they do hold up I shall certainly use more.
