NewBuilderFlyer
A recent trip to North Weald Airshow gave me the opportunity to buy a Twinstar II, and after quite a delay the mighty foamie is almost ready. But the thought of standard stickers didn't appeal and so my son and I grabbed some paint and brushes and created a custom design. See if you like it.... Nev
I like it, bit of a mix of styles though, what did you do take one side each ? Better than mine I have to say which all ended up plain white with a few of the stickers
NewBuilderFlyer
Yes we each took a side - mine is the wing with the black spots - Sammy (10) decided upon stripes. It was really good fun.
Biggles' Elder Brother - Moderator
Brilliant! Nothing like a bit of individuality - at least you can be sure there isn't another one like it! I'm sure Sammy will always remember doing that with Dad - kids really love quality time with a parent don't they! BEB
Keith Newman
Just picked up one of the original brushed ones of these at a swop meet for £10 Included a RX which is no use for my equipment. But has got a Jeti JES 350 ESC, google tells me that esc should be okay with lipo's. The model is a bit dirty so thinking of a paint job on it. They go great on a 3s Lipo ............... for a while until the props fly off or the motors burn out , but a 2s is probably a good replacement. Mike Etheridge 1
I never painted my Twinstar 2, it has now survived for 11 years and just for an experiment I taped on an undercarriage a couple of weeks ago. It does work on take offs with the brushed motors and 9.6 volt NimH batteries. The undercarriage is made with piano wire, coat hanger wire, carbon fibre tube,1/4 inch balsa joined with Coke can aluminium /super glue..
