Hi Michael, I can see you had a similar problem to myself of not being able to get close enough to the STAMPE to get some decent piccys.

I was at Duxdord the other day with camera in hand, one of the security chaps allowed me to go over the line, escorted, to take some detail shots of the STAMPE that I need to finish my model. Just as I stepped over the line some snotty women appeared and told me I cant go over that line and if I want to photograph the STAMPE I need permission from the owner. I told her it was a living museum and there is no restrictions on photo taking. She told me there was. Then she said the security at the airport was appalling and she was worried about her spitfire she parks there. Not the women who owns and flys the dual seat spot.

I contacted the operations manager after being told by her. He was not a happy bunny with her attitude as she has no authority at Duxford. She pays rent to park a plane there. There are no photographic restrictions in place. As a FOD I have now been given permission to cross the line to photograph the STAMPE, with an escort of course. Next week I will be going up again to get the pictures I want, I will post them up on here. Was there anything specific you wanted photographing Micheal?

Not a big deal really, a visit to Duxford has been on my bucket list for a while. I've reviewed the threads on the Stampe and think I have enough to do my Precedent kit. I bought it when Hobby Lobby (USA) had them available. I think if I need something, there is plenty of information shared here.

What a snot! She must be really full of herself. frown I have been involved with several aircraft restorations and have freely given access to the aircraft as long as the photographer is mindful of where to step, what not to touch, etc. I'm sure if you posted your pictures here, all of us Stampe fans will benefit.

Regards,

Hi Micheal, good to hear back from you.

I will post the next series of piccys up here.

i just need some finer shots of the wing rigging various panels and the pilots seat.

Yeah, she was a real snot. I did say as I walked away I would be happy to park my P51d and my P40 warhawk

At Duxford, she was completely stumped for a reply. What I didn't tell her was they are 1/5 scale RC models. I love the warbirds.

Cheers Bud
