Whilst searching on you tube for model videos I keep coming across PC game clips. Some of the titles are

Aces of iron

Rise of flight

Knights of the sky

I am not a big gamer but thet do look like they could be fun an maybe fill in some time when working away. Has anyone played these types of games. Any recommendations ?

Just recently I've wasted a huge amount of time playing DROD.

It is silly, But is a hard logic type game of killing cockroaches, tar, snakes and eyeballs etc. with a very big sword.

As a person who usually refuses to play violent games it is daft, but trying to work out just how to kill ALL the meanies is somehow rather nice.

Be warned.

It is addictive.

Very addictive.

But...

No! don't do it.

No gamers here then?

Well perhaps not, but I have stumbled across Rise of Flight and thought it was very attractive but I haven't an idea of how I would get it on to my computer.

I have a joystick which I used to use for a game called Sturmovic but I haven't used it for ages.

Rise of Flight is awesome.

You do need a powerful rig to get the best of it though.

You also, AFAIK, need to be constantly connected to the web while playing this which eats your download limit and ties up your broadband.

maybe its not for me then. I need it to work off line on my laptop.

Thanks for the heads up

In the early days yes.

But now there is an offline mode.

I'm addicted to World of Tanks

I've never had any interest in tanks in the past and still don't. I think it's the strategy and challenge of survival that makes it so addictive to me. The quality of its physics engine is pretty awesome too.

I didn't like World of Warplanes.........what the heck is wrong with me? smile p

well I downloaded rise of flight and it is free to play (they make their money by getting you to pay for extra features like new aircraft ect)

It seem very good so far and I have only scratched the surface

It is one of those games you can loose house on so be warned. But if you find yourself away from home with not much to do it look great fun

  • 2 months later...

Well this week given the weather has seen my spend too much time with WarThunder, which is very similar to World of War Planes, dam addictive when I should be clearing and tidying my workshop, putting a few artf's together, small repair to my 50cc and changing an engine on a 600 heli !

Ah well.......

Anyone else use WarThunder ?
