PatMc
Unless I'm missing something the width isn't specified. It appears to be laminating film (AKA Doculam) which usually comes in 100m x 320mm rolls for about £20. I know that it's popular to use with small vintage models as a first "skin" then cover this with tissue. This gives a final appearance and structure stiffening of authentic vintage tissue covering but with the puncture resistance of modern films. I think heavier grades are used on some EPP foam gliders where it's painted for decor. Edited By PatMc on 01/12/2013 18:11:
WolstonFlyer
It must be at least 500mm wide as the description says you can be sent a sample 500x510mm for ?1.50 plus P+P P.S Why does the pound sign always end up as a question mark when I type it on an Android tablet.?Edited By WolstonFlyer on 01/12/2013 18:56:

Andy Shailer
Patmc do you think its to thin for a skin on top of veneer, with it being 6ft wing span. Andy
PatMc
Andy, I haven't used it myself, only read about it's use in other forums. I was/am mainly interested in it's application to open structure vintage models but I have seen references to it's use on EPP slope soarers. A search (or posted query) for doculam in the vintage and the glider sections of RCG and also the glider section of RCMF should glean the info you want. Phil Green
The slightly heavier grade used on EPP pylon racing gliders is widely known as 'new stuff' . Like Pat, I've not used it myself but it would seem to be more suitable for a foam wing than the ebay mylar which is more like cling-film. lots of threads on 'new stuff', example here Anyone from the Huddersfield club would know, Ron Broughton, Tim, Skirmish, maybe even Richard at T9 Cheers Phil Edited By Phil Green on 01/12/2013 23:05:
Andy Shailer
Hi Lads, Many thanks for the info lads, think I will do a bit more homework before I buy some, got a feeling it might be a little to thin for what I need it for. cheers all, Andy
