Tony Bennett
been told is i disconnect the feedback pot , the servo will just spin round and round. so if i was to reduce the voltage to the servo i could slow it down a lot. yes maybe?/
Phil Winks
thats the way mate now are you going to use a dedicated channel for it or mix it in with the rudder or ailerons, if its the later how about one of these for a fiver to make it move a tad slower I've got a spare if you want it Edited By Phil Winks on 25/03/2014 19:19:
Tony Bennett
thanks for the info, i will get one ordered.

Phil Winks
I've got some scrap servos so will try some ideas out at the weekend and let you know the results
Tony Bennett
hmmmmm. will have to have a look inside one. something to experiment with i think or just have it swinging a small amount, now if i was to pivot the guns and build an undulating ring into the top of the fuselage, an arm going down to that would make the guns go up and down as well, he he he
Phil Winks
Now your talking Tony, to be fair the only servo I had a prob with getting to rotate fully was a cheap 9g one from Giant shark the only other one I tried it on was a standard futaba servo converted to a winch motor for a boat on a stick channel it was controllable for speed and direction depending on deflection of the stick all I did was cut one, forget which, wire between the pot and the board. however the easy option would be to purchase a sail winch though few of them have unlimited turns most around 3 to
Tony Bennett
i am using an old code 4 servo from the dagostini spitfire kit, so i can butcher that about and see if i can get it to rotate. might have a play with the ring idea tomorrow between other jobs
Phil Winks
Sounds like a plan Tony
Colin Leighfield
In practice I doubt if the turret got turned very frequently and certainly wouldn't be spinning around! An occasional part rotation would be more like it, but what you really need to do is have the gunner inside waving.
Tony Bennett
dont you start. maybe on the next slightly larger one though, let me get this one sorted first sir.

Tony Bennett
ha ha ha no worries. though them 1/4 scale pilots on here look oh so tempting.
Tony Bennett
well i have been looking at the mid upper turret some more. not up to the high standards of some on here, but it will do me.

Ton van Munsteren
Very nice work Tony keep up the good work, this will make an very nice detail to the plane. Cheers Ton
Phil Winks
That looks to have what I now consider to be your usual potential Tony. Nice work keep it up. The point made earlier about the turret not usually making full rotations is I believe quite valid, and it may be more scale like in appearance if its allowed to turn say 45 degrees maybe linked to the rudder so a Farnborough pass (that is closer wing down isn't it) would have it pointing away from the crowd and a dirty banking pass showing the opening weapons bay I just know you'll fit somehow, would bring the barrels into view over the top of the fuse for the crowd
Tony Bennett
just need the servo slower now. full weapons bay and lowering radar dome. hmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Lindsay Todd
I like that Tony, nice bit of detailing, you don't hang around do you, every chance of this being some sort of speed record build for such a design. Linds
Tony Bennett
not up to your standards sir, but i am pleased with it. not spending as much time on it as i want, to many other builds on the go as well. models just seem to fall together for me, well the start does, i slow down once i get to the finishing. Tony.
Tony Bennett
going to look at the tail wheel today after some lancaster building. needs to retract and turn, then there are the doors to look at for it. then maybe the drop down randome will need thinking about as well. all things that need doing before i finish sheeting
Tony Bennett
well after some fuffing and huffing we have got this so far. now how the flup do i make the randome go up and down. hmmmmmmmmmmmmm
