First big petrol - Evolution 35GT

So I've gone and bought a new in box Evo 35GT at a fraction of it's original rrp, this being essentially a rebadged MVVS 35. It comes with a 10mm(?) plug with matching spanner, a 4.8v ignition module and no silencer.

So - how to keep the noise down without breaking the bank - HK manifolds and cans or are they a waste of money? Are any Pitts style silencers worth using? It seems to use the common '50' size exhaust fittings of 41mm bolt spacing.

What about inlet trumpets/filters?
This engine will ultimately go in a Maher's Thunderbird once I've built it, so it's got a big radial style cowl to hide in.

Any hints and tips on running petrol motors?
