Tony Read 2
Looks like the HK version might be a 3rd Air Div B17. I believe to was a B17 from 94th Bomb Group, 3rd AD that caught fire shortly after take off and crash landed about a mile from my home. All the crew survived. Tony Read 2
Anyone know the type of connector that is on the B17 E-flite battery? There are different sizes, even on the 1s E-flite batteries.
Paul Marsh
It's the same as all the 1s batteries, ie the ones that fit the mossie and the ultra micro aircraft, such as the Spitfire, Vapor, etc. I use the lead that came with the B-17, but sold the USB charger and use the 4-port eflite charger to charge it, via the fly lead, as the 250mah 1s battery won't fit in the charger slot, unlike the smaller 160mah ones... Tony Read
Ok, no way in the world is this scale flying, but impressed the heck out of me!
Tony Read 2
I finally got to fly my EF B17 last night. I would describe it as slow and stable. Very slow. It looks great in the air but made hard work of fighting against a gentle head breeze. Those who have flown one, is this typical? I put three standard batteries through it, one was duff and resulted on a short trip, the other two gave flight times of around 3 minutes at full throttle. Might try better/bigger batteries to see if the performance improves.
Tony Read 2
Having been under whelmed by the performance of my B17 I converted it to take Flightmax 400's. Much better. It wants to pull form a hand launch now, rather than glide. Can even loop!
