john stones 1 - Moderator
The lettering on the carb and the brass fuel nipple plus the casting on the head fins, all same as mine. The thread I read fails them with these, i'm off for a lie down i'm getting a headache John
john melia 1
ah well , who knows , lets just get em bolted on , and see how long they last , as erflog says dle is a copy of da ? agm is a copy of dle ? if its a good fake then i'll be pretty happy especially at £140 as opposed to £225 , only time will tell , plus replacement bits arent that expensive
john stones 1 - Moderator
I'm not knocking your engine John, the whole thread is full of doubts as to which info is correct. Enjoy your engine and flying bud John

john stones 1 - Moderator
You'll do for me John, yours is the same as mine, plus the advert and high feedback score, I only bought after seeing them being used reliably John
diesel carb
just out of curiosity hows your engines going? i just sent a dle 20 ra and a 35 ra back for being fake from xplus2014. what made me do the reserch was looking into exhaust port the 20 looked all beaten up inside and the 35 ring was worn out where it had been spun up dry on a lathe (i assume to loosen it up as it still felt Very frictiony if thats a usable word) and comparing the 20 with a mates al different
cymaz
Ummm.........I am thinking of buying a DLE 20RA. I think it might just pay me to buy it from Kings Lynn Models. If there is any troubles at least I know the customer service is pretty good. I am going to get an Evo 33GX from there soon when I have my bonus from work. Bob Cotsford
I couldn't find a 40 twin in stock at the 'regular' UK model suppliers so I went with UK-Lightszone on ebay (99.6% positive feedback). It arrived today. Looking at the Flying Giants link from page 1 of this thread it appears to be a genuine DLE engine on balance, though the ignition unit appears to be RceXl with a DLE wrapper and the plug caps are etched RceXl not DLE. Castings are clean and well formed, appropriate serial numbers are present on the crankcase rear and it all looks very neatly made. If it is a clone it's a very nicely made one and £50 + cheaper than the out of stock model suppliers. It'll do me.
john melia 1
the fake dle engine i bought off xplus2014 is running as sweet as a nut , in fact it idles and runs better than my genuine dle in the sbach , i have however changed the piston ring for a frank bowman ring
Mark Hancock
So you like the Frank Bowman ring then john? All 8 of mine bought off ebay and fitted with Frank Bowman rings. Only had a slight problem with the 170 biting a bit, a new carb sorted that problem out.. You have seen them run john if there fakes I'd buy another
john stones 1 - Moderator
The carb been o.k. John ? John
john melia 1
yeah cant fault them upto now mark , and yes i've seen yours running and performing a few times , and hopefully if this incessant wind stops i'll get to fly with you and young lee at some point . john as i stated earlier , the engine is running perfect , no hunting , and pickup is spot on
Morgan Goule
But the question we all want to know the answer to is do they run? I have a genuine DLE 30 and paid around £220 for it and it is sweet as a nut and has been for years now , but in my eyes (just my opinion) if it runs good then it doesn't matter if it is a fake ?
