Frank Skilbeck
Possibly, but I've just been on the HK web site, all their 40A ESC are switched BECs and you have to drop down to the 20A ESCs to find some with linear BECs the BECs are only good for 2-3s Lipos and rated at 1 to 2 amps and cost between £3.57p and £6.76p whereas one with a SBEC rated for upto 3A (and 4s lipo) costs £5.56p, so price doesn't seem to be that much of a factor. BTW I checked my 2S Life Rx pack on my discharger to get the voltage drop reported by the telemetry the servos were pulling around 1amp. Gary Manuel
I've been reading this thread with interest. One factor that hasn't been mentioned is that the servo load is actually much higher when the plane is flying, because of the forces involved in moving / holding the servos against the air-flow. On the ground the servo current will be relatively small as it is not loaded up.
