Colin Leighfield
This was brilliant. Good supporting show from an Apache, Chinook and also the Breitling Wing Walkers. Sadly Nigel Lamb blew it in the final heat, Hannes Arch had an engine no-start which eliminated him from the final, Paul Bonhomme showed again an uncanny ability to know exactly what top do to win, which he did with a blistering final run. Matt Hall from Australia second, Yoshihide Muroya and Nicholas Ivanoff third and fourth. Bonhomie now 8 points clear from Matt Hall in the world championships so far, with 46. Nigel Lamb is in 5th place with 17. This is well worth £43, a great aviation spectacular.
cymaz
Oh hell...I wish me and 'Er had gone..... Good on you for making the race. I must go , I must go
Colin Leighfield
Next year Cymaz? It really is spectacular. They take off and land on the race-course, right in front of your eyes. At the back of the course they are dropping below tree height for brief moments and pulling up to 10g in some of the turns. On the final run they are doing around 230mph on the deck. Great stuff. Concorde Speedbird
Wish I had gone! I am very happy that Bonhomme won, shame about Lamb. I wish this had better coverage on TV as well. It would be brilliant if it was live on a free channel so we can watch the international races and more people would get interested. Colin Leighfield
Good point CS. Air shows like this are amazingly popular, there were thousands there. Sadly the bias that is so obvious in the media view of the sport that we should be allowed or encouraged to see is at work here. They were describing this yesterday as the aerial equivalent of formula 1, shame that the TV companies can't seem to understand that. Bob Cotsford
A year or two back it was televised - at least for sat or cable viewers. I think it was Motors TV, the coverage was pretty good too. This year it's isolated 10 minute highlights hidden in general sports programs.
Nigel Dell
It was televised live, have to check which channel, but it was there in full, we live just a 6 minute train ride away so within 30 minutes from door to beer with waiting for the train and walking to the race course! A good day it was too!

Dave Dadson
Hi all. I went up the Saturday with my son, the best flying I have seen for years, well done Paul for another win. We watched it live on Sunday at redbull.com/livetv. The Chinook was amazing this is my son's dream job when he completes his RAF aircrew training later this year. Colin Leighfield
Thanks Bob, Nigel, Jo and Dave. I took a lot more photos, but these give the flavour of the event, I think. It looks as if we now have the answer to how to see it on TV!
Allan Bowker
I was there on Sunday too Colin, very close to you it seems (I was seated in front of the static display Sea King). Dave is correct, every race is streamed live on Red Bull TV, so I am able to watch all of the races on my PC or Apple TV. RBAR @ Ascot is a fantastic day out and well worth the journey. I'm a Nigel Lamb Fan myself and yes, it was not the best day for him. I think he was lucky to get 5th place. At least a british pilot won on the day, Paul Bonhomme is undoubtedly the best pilot, he is very consistent. MattyB
RBAR is certainly very exciting, but I wonder if this event will be affected next year by the investigation into the Hunter crash - even if the CAA do not clamp down on aerobatic monoplanes, I can see the insurers hiking their premiums significantly for an event of this type. The public and media perception of the dangers of airshows may also work against it. Edited By MattyB on 28/08/2015 14:33:
