I was given this model today, but I have no real clue as to what it is.

Google gives me the impression that it could be a Ben Buckle Elf.

Apart from the massive dihedral on the lower wing and the missing wing struts I think that is what it is.

This is just crying out for a nice little four stroke and Solartex covering.

Certainly looks Elfish, you lucky man! The plans for a 60" one are on Outerzone too.  Looks like someone did a whoopsy with the bottom wing dihedral.

Most definitely an Elf!

I had one many years ago. They look splendid with silver wings and a coach stripe along the fuselage

I think mine had an OS26 4 stroke in. It certinly flew well and looked magnificent in the air - another "Gentleman's carriage" kind of plane!

Kevin. Just checked my plans from a Ben Buckle kit and agree it has all the Elfish tendencies. Plan shows dihedral braces equal for both wings.
I bought the kit on Ebay but there was almost no "kit", just bits so it went on the backburner. Seeing this in the raw makes me think I should dig it out and do a slow build.

I test flew an Elf a couple of years ago. don't recal it being naughty to fly.

I do recal it having a niggle with the wing struts- braces,

The wings were rubber banded on and during the flight one of the wings lifted of its seat during a zooming manover and alowed the brace- strut to come out, the model flew ok, with one missing,,,never did see the plane again or the owner,, I think the fix was going to be make the dowle of the brace- strut longer.and fly more sedately

It was a loverly looking plane.
