ChrisB Posted July 18, 2016 Share Posted July 18, 2016 It tends to happen on the scale jets, such as the Vulcan and Lightning more than on the sports jets and usually downwind. The Lightning had some flames when it backtracked on the runway on Saturday. I assume the rear airflow surges the compressor and causes the flameout?
