Just a quick note that if anyone intends to travel to Cornwall on holiday, please avoid Bodmin. We have the major road running right through the town completely shut for the next 10 months......STARTING TODAY AT THE HEIGHT OF THE HOLIDAY SEASON.

Whoever thought of that needs their head looking at

Of Course!!

Didn't you know that it is a requirement for anyone standing for election for any government office that they have their common sense surgically removed.

Not forgetting the ludicrous time scales that are attached to most road/local government projects. Quite the opposite to most private operations and I give the example of a new Supermarket that is being built close by to where I live.

Work began in March this year with demolishing the old warehouse site and clearing it away. A new access road was in place within a few weeks and the main structure of the building and carpark was complete by mid May. Contractors have been working seven days a week to fit the shop out and judging by the sign hanging outside, they'll be open for business towards early September.

Try getting the council to fix a pot -hole and it'll be six months if you're lucky before someone comes along to tosh it up.
