trebor
What colour thread lock did you use ?
Nigel Dell
Heat normally does the trick, I use a soldering iron held on the bolt head for a minute or so then that generally gives up! of course you can use a heat gun etc. but I found the iron work well in my case. flight1
What thread lock did you use blue or the red high strenght? hope fully the blue . you gould try abit of heat directed at the bolt area and hopefully with a bit of but strength it will come loose. trebor
Yes try the heat from the soldering iron. You could use some twin pack thinners on a small brush but be carful.

rcaddict
got 2 out of 4 out - cheap bolt heads - just getting chewed !!!
Nigel Dell
Can you get into the heads to drill them off? if so make sure you tape / bung up any holes and if possible have a magnet close to the drill area so as to minimise the risk of swarf getting into the motor. Know exactly what you mean about cheap bolts!!
trebor
Well your still in with a chance of getting them out. I've had the threads strip on 2 mm alloy first. I did used to have some rubbery thread locker that stayed soft and really sticky which stopped threads from turning but it ran out years ago. I can't remember what it was called or seen anything like it for sale since. Might be worth trying nail varnish next time.

It's probably too late now but it's worth paying a bit more for top quality hex keys. There is a product available called "Screwgrab" which might just help you out if things haven't got too rounded off - it's very fine diamond dust in a grease type material which bites into the fastener. Owdlad
Thread lock is Thermo Plastic. This means that it softens under heat, apply enough heat and it melts, apart from retainer which is a devil to remove or break its bond. Before trying to crack the thread.......?. Either use a soldering iron to warm the offending bolt or nut then crack the thread or depending on what you're doing use a heat gun
Peter Miller
You can get chewed up allen screw out by tapping in a Torx wrench. Most sets of screwdriver bits have them.
