Bob Cotsford
My Marabu is running an Enya 60 III and it provides a nice amount of power, though that doesn't have the weight of retracts. My Tornado does have retracts but is still 'adequately' powered by on OS 61SF. I can't help thinking that the 91FX may be a bit OTT.
kc
Looks a nice design. For those who don't know it this plan is available on Outerzone together with the original 1973 article by Ron Chidgey
Martyn K
I'll be watching this with interest. Good luck Martyn

Nigel Armstrong
I think a good OS55 would be enough power for this model. Its only 64 inches span and the new OS will have more power than the engines fitted into the prototype.
Nigel R
Following with interest, its a complete classic. Does this version call for a semi symmetrical tip section? " I can't help thinking that the 91FX may be a bit OTT" In 1973 crossflows ruled the day and not a tuned pipe in sight, a 91FX is probably double the original power! The Enya III will be happy on an 11" (or 12) prop, this might make the retract installation a bit easier? I imagine the original would have been using an 11x7. edit: http://sceptreflight.net/Model%20Engine%20Tests/Enya%2060-III.html Shows 11k7 on an 11x7 with no silencer, I guess that would be around 11k with. Denis Watkins
Spot on Percy, this was always a .60 model The .60 will fit, will power the model and will only need a tank size that fits the design Also, a modern 60 class motor will pack more punch than its predecessor
