Graupner Amigo 2 kit build

Recommended Posts

Hi Tom, I'm not sure of the economics between using tissue doped on doculam & film. It would be a lot cheaper to use water based varnish than clear dope & normal model covering films vary a lot in price. My main priority was that I wanted to achieve a vintage appearance for the Amigo & I intend repeating the method on a couple of other vintage models yet to be built. The basic method I used is explained in this thread when I tried it out on a spare tailplane last year.

Have you tried any of the film from HK ? I've tried some on a couple of models, IMO it's superior to Solarfilm as well as being much cheaper even after postage is considered.
