Paul Hartley
There seem to be lots of fibre optic borescopes for sale that link to either a mobile phone or tablet to give you the image. They seem quite cheap and could be useful for inspecting inside of fuselages or wings as well as other DIY jobs. Anyone had any good or bad experience of them? Gordon Tarling
I bought one of the cheaper USB ones some time ago and found that you get what you pay for, as with most things in life. It certainly works, but clarity is very poor and I am left feeling that I should have paid a bit more. All I'll say is choose carefully. Steve Hargreaves - Moderator
+1 for Gordons post....I have one for the laptop bought from Fleabay & it's OK but the quality is not brilliant. There are 4k versions available too although again I'm sure the quality will be variable with those too... But...as you say....very useful... Gary Manuel
I bought a cheap one from Banggood for about £7. Here's a LINK to it - currently £6.60 including postage. It doesn't give perfect pictures but can reach places other cameras can't. Highly recommended as an essential tool for us modellers. Here's a couple of example photo's taken from the inside of a cowl, looking for tight engine clearances. MaL
I had one a while ago that wouldn't work on my laptop.. something to do with the laptop having the wrong chipset - but it worked ok when using an android mobile phone. might have all changed now though.
