dirk tinck
I'm letting this dry out for some day's for easyer sanding. Meanwhile i'm starting on the motor-hatch. First get the right position sorted ,not easy when you don't know the right plae for the motor....
dirk tinck
Before i cut it out ,i'm reinforcing the hatch itself with some foam not to disturb the form. Before i glue the foam on the hatch i'm taping it so that i can remove it with ease. dirk tinck
Time to prepare the hatch and the opening in the fuse for later moulding by glueing some casting material arround the edges

dirk tinck
Next day's i will do thesame for the front hatch to be able to reach the front retract. Need a drink now ....cheers !
dirk tinck
Hi Martyn ,thanks for following. The casting material is in fact ''ply'' with both sides laminated with some sort of shiny layer. It's thesame as concrete casting material but not so thick.I use the 4 mm version. It is sold in plates 1.25M X2.5M and relatively cheap. I think it's 20€ per plate. The great advantage is that when you don't sand it , the epoxy dusn't stick to it !!and you can polish it like a mirror. Hope this helps ?? dirk tinck
I cut it with a disc grinder to avoid the edges getting raffled,It stinks then but hey !I do have clean edges !!
dirk tinck
As promissed a series of pictures taken during the build of the fuse-plug back in 2016.I didn't have a hobby space then and had to use all the availeble space i could find so don't judge anything other than aircraft parts please

dirk tinck
Hi all, hope i didn't bore you with the ''the making of'' the fuselage plug in 2016. Meanwhile the rudder is primered and drying, and the front hatch is made the same way i did the motor hatch. In the background you see the tail cone also primered. This part also comes from the PSS moulds. dirk tinck
First drawn the hatch on the fuse as scale like as possible. The real fouga needs this opening to refill the guns in the nose.
