Long range photography

I live in Suffolk and have a clear view over the copuntryside to the west. As a result I get photgpraphs of some stunning sunsets.

At night I see the landing lights of aircraft landing at Stansted

The other evening the sun was going down as a great red ball. I grabbed my Sony HX90 and wound the lens out to 720mm and took a few photos

One of them showed an airliner going in to land at Stansted Airport.

Here is the cropped version

Stansted is 25 miles away in a straight line.

And tyo think that my Fujifilm has a lens that zooms out to 1200mm! I must try that again.
